If Aaron Jones gets 40 yards on 13 carries, let's not freak out and call him a bust and everything.

The Vikings have a pretty good defense and have held up well against RB's this season and only have given up 1 rushing touchdown through the first five games.

Week 1
Adrian Peterson 7 for 18 yards
Alvin Kamara 6 for 18 yards
Mark Ingram 6 for 17 yards

Week 2
Le'Veon Bell 27 for 87 yards

Week 3
Jacquizz Rodgers 5 for 15 yards
Charles Sims 2 for 4 yards

Week 4
Ameer Abdullah 20 for 94 yards
Theo Riddick 4 for 4 yards

Week 5
Jordan Howard 19 for 76 yards
Tarik Cohen 6 for 13 yards

Of the teams the Vikes have played, the Bears has he highest rushing offensive rank sitting at 12th. The other 4 are all in the bottom 1/2 in the league.

I'm hoping Rodgers takes advantage of the Vikings 20th ranked pass defense getting us up a few scores so we can pound the ball to kill the clock.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I would take 27 for 87; 20 for 90 or 19 for 76 outta Jones. A couple of receptions for another 20 would be icing on the cake.

I agree and I was trying to say something similar with the unfair Monty vs Jones comparisons.

Jones did very well against the Cowboys... BUT the Cowboys defense for the most part are ranked a lot worst than the teams Monty was facing (and the OL was the healthiest it's been).

Current (Yards per Game) ranking of these defenses.
Seahawks: 17th in the NFL
Falcons: 10th in the NFL
Bengals: 2nd in the NFL
Bears: 6th in the NFL
Cowboys: 19th in the NFL

So most games the Packers had an injured OL and were facing a top 10 (Yards per game wise) defense... and Monty struggled. The OL gets the healthiest that it has been... and a weakest defense it has faced and Jones explodes.

Mean while the Vikings are ranked as the 7th in the NFL for yards per game, and the best of any team the Packers have faced with running yards per game as well as 4th overall in running yards per rush defense. So the running game could have more trouble than compared to the Cowboys.

Week 1 Perkins, Darkwa 10-30-0 (3.0 YPC) Long=12
Week 2 Anderson, Charles 34-164-1 (4.8 YPC) Long =28
Week 3 Johnson (12-17-0), Ellington, Williams 18-42-0 (2.3YPC) Long=6
Week 4 Gurley 23-121-0 (5.26YPC) Long=17; Brown 1-0-0
Week 5 Jones 19-125-1 (6.58 YPC) Long =22; Williams 1-1-0; Rip 1-2-0.

This was behind an OL that never played as a unit with a hobbled RT; LG playing LT and a Rookie w/ 2 starts at RT getting his first start at LG. Career wise: the right side played together for 107 snaps; the left side Zero snaps.

Sean Lee is a difference maker. He played 100% of games 1 and 2; 93% game 3; Zilch in weeks 4 and 5

Irving and Hitchens played for 1st time this year v. GB

Regardless of what he does in Minny-Hype away!

He looked good in preseason too, but I'd like to see him establish some consistency at a high level like this.

All I'm saying is don't get down on the kid if he doesn't duplicate the success he had vs Cowboys. The Vikings are more stout vs run than a Sean Lee less Cowboys.

But thanks for proving my point EVEN MORE! 👍 Looking at your numbers it's even more clear that the Cowboys run defense completely sucks, giving up over 120 yards even ever they face a decent OL. They got to play two of the worst OLs in the NFL, which helps their numbers.
