Green Bay looks like it will start two new cornerbacks, free agent Davon House (31) and rookie Kevin King (20). -- Rob Demovsky

Mildly amusing to see the word choice used by Demovsky... "looks like it will"...he follows this team as a paid member of the media and a few days before the season opener he isn't exactly sure who the starting CB's are? It ain't because the options are so good it's just hard to make a decision. 😂

So, that was the overhaul? Sign a Jags castoff and start an unimpressive rookie you traded down for? If there's an Achilles's heel to our chances it's this foolish roll of the dice.

It's going to be musical chairs all season long at the position mixing and matching looking like pre season in the regular season.

I doubt it. Both Rollins and Randall looked good this offseason. If one of them get hurt it's a different story since it seems like they want to feature the slot CB and someone would have to play outside while one of those guys was in the slot.

I'll bet at some point Hawkins and or Pipkins gets a start and I'm not referring to injuries.

Let's keep count of how many different guys line up as starting CBs this season. I'm guessing all of them save for maybe Pipkins.

Davon house did fine as a starter until jacksonville switched up their defense, if it wasn't for that he'd likely still be there. He's a man to man defender and thats mostly what the Packers run. The Packers don't have any all-pro CBs but they are pretty strong 1-4, and none of teams have quality CBs when you start looking at the bottom of the roster.

I also like that bit about that unimpressive rookie you traded down for, they traded back from #29 to #33. OMG he must be shit if they traded back 4 spots!!!!!

PS: Hawkins + Pipkins won't start any games barring injuries to starters

For the most part it doesn't matter, the success of our secondary is dependent on the defensive front being able to get more consistent pressure than it did last year.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

I don't think being listed as a starter means a whole lot in today's game of multiple sub-packages .
I think it's an advantage for The Packers players to be versatile enough to play multiple positions.
On offense they have qb1, and the 5 starting O-lineman as definite starters.
Having 5 wr' s that can play any of the positions, 3 Te's and a Rb who can lineup anywhere on the field, I foresee many a sleepless night for The Packers opposing Defensive Coordinators.

I guess if you tske a look at the number of play each guy played, then you can determine who the starters were for that game.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!

iso... I don't care about having enough to win the NFCN. I care about having enough to advance to the show.

It's almost funny to think that a top flight QB would have any issue torching any of our CB's. Dak is now no longer a rookie so we're not getting that break this time.

PFWT is somewhat right... that will play a huge role but no DL and OLB combo is going to be disrupting every single throw. Their ability to consistently pressure will be key but it's how they do on 3rd downs and big moments that really matter. That's where we get killed all the time. It's asking a lot for our front 7 to protect the backend every single play. These guys are going to be beaten, badly, over and over and over throughout the season when the rush just isn't there, and that will be quite often.

Instead of defending our CB situation why not just acknowledge it isn't very good? It isn't. I LOVE the offense. That baby is really going to roll as long as everyone is healthy. It's just as tiring as my posts on the subject that this defense is going to be what it is for the 7th season in a row. Think on that... if it holds, 7 straight years of pitiful defense. When will it ever ever change?

No matter the new additions and the old guard, our CB situation is abysmal. To say it's much better than last year when we got torched is being overly optimistic because NOBODY has seen King play in a regular season game. I saw him in the preseason and read the reports on him. NONE OF THEM WERE ENCOURAGING. So, unless he magically becomes a player overnight, it doesn't look good for his chances and House was never anything when he was here so is he all of a sudden going to be a much improved player under the same DC he wasn't before? Where are the fresh ideas on D? It's the same old stale scheme and we have less than stars at CB to execute it.

Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.
Zero2Cool (27-Jan) : Packers coach Matt LaFleur hires Luke Getsy as senior assistant, extends Rich Bisaccia's deal

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
