If Randall became a top 5 safety he'd definitely be a good pick. What's the obsession over specific positions. Is the player good or not? GB drafted an offensive lineman in the first round and got a top 5 RT, that's a win.

True debate is give and take. You cherry pick what you think strengthens your argument and then stop there. You have asked me things that I have answered such as proving he was taken to play LT. He wasn't taken to be Spriggs. Spriggs was as 2nd rounder. Bulaga had a specific reason for his selection in Round 1...to play LT, just like Sherrod.

It doesn't matter what other teams do. It matters what ours did. Ours was using a 1st round pick on a left tackle who couldn't play LT but ended up being good at RT. This causes Sherrod to be drafted hoping he is the LT of the future that Bulaga is not. Sherrod fails worse than Bulaga and we get stuck watching Marshall Newhouse Barclay it up out there so that a guy who can't play LT well, Bulaga, has to go back out and attempt to do it but not well. Fortunately, Bakhtiari fixed all this but what if he hadn't? How many bad years of poor LT play was there before Bakh could get it done? How many more would there have been if he hadn't? That is why it does matter that Bulaga failed at LT which is where this team drafted him to play.

Some are under the delusion that because a LT is drafted they are expected to play LT. Packers don't draft that way. They draft LT because they are typically the most athletic players on the Offensive line coming out of college and they work them and play them where ever they need somebody. It is more likely a LT from college will be able to play either T or G and can never have to many players to have experience at LT.

Didn't trade up in Round 2 for a Don Barclay role player. BB was specifically drafted to play LT. It's revisionist history to say otherwise. The draft is my favorite event and I really followed it extremely close back in those days. I know what was going on back then pre draft and post. I know he played LT in college and I was screaming back then he couldn't play LT in the pros because his arms were short and he wasn't very athletic and would get schooled by speed. The guy should've been a G. Surprising he's been as good at RT as he has been.

It's funny to see you tell me how the Packers do it as if that means that's how they did it in that particular instance.

Cut Spriggs. I don't care what year it is. He's an embarrassment to his position.
