The 20th and 33rd for the 9th would seem pretty fair, although I can image the Lions trying to get as much early picks as they can to adress their tons of needs.

Having the 1st and 9th picks are pretty safe though when it comes to quality. It would be tempting to lose one pick to guarantee two starters. I still wouldn't draft a QB and wait until next year, but who knows what the brass in Detroit are thinking?

Would either one consider Brohm as part of a trade? A number of teams were high on him after his junior year. Is he as good or better than what's in the draft? I know he didn't look good in pre season, but ... who knows.

The fact that Brohm found himself behind Matt Flynn and Flynn was terrible when Aaron was hurt is not good news to me when it comes to possibly trading him. Hopefully being the third-stringer with motivate him.

Boys, I was thinking more on the lines of Carolina sending us JPeppers, and their first for the ninth pick. If anyone watched Delomme chuck up all those picks against Arizona, he would know that they need a QB badly.

That would be an offer we couldn't refuse.

Coming from fans where Favre is a legend it seems odd for me to read that statement. Sure Jake had a lousy game when it mattered, but he did have a pretty solid season coming back from surgery. I remember the commentators at that game suggesting that the Cards knew the Panthers play calls. I sure looked like it and when you get behind in a desperate game it can get ugly pretty quick.

Maybe I just don't respect many of the QBs in this draft, but I really don't see Sanchez and Stafford being all that special at the NFL level for teams to pay first round money for them. I am more intrigued with Chase Daniel and Rhett Bomar. I think Chase would make a great CFL QB, and then make the move to the NFL like Jeff Garcia.

I like where we are sitting in this draft. I will take a wild guess and say that there are probably two guys he would take that could still be there(the obvious players will be gone).

Raji and Andre the Giant. If either are there my guess is he will jump on them. Two reasons. They are WORTH the #9 pick and we need linemen on both sides of the ball.

IF both of these guys are gone my guess is he will seek a trade partner and move back to take a player like Peria Jerry around #20 where he would be positioned at about the right value and we could add picks.

The question becomes do you gamble a little and hope Orakpo or Brown are what they look like they are even though they really haven't played the position we will ask them to or back down and take a safer player down lower?

I personally would have no problem moving back for a player like Jerry and ending up with six picks in the top 85 or so. I would think moving back ten or eleven spots would earn at least another second and third round, especially if the second was lower than what we have now.

There's some juiciness in the first part of round two.

I think both of them are gone by #9.

Have some concerns about Orapkos knees so, I hope GB doesn't spend a 39 on him.

They made a good point about Orakpo compared to Gholston.

I'm sticking with Raji, like I said earlier. I hope he gets passed on by the Bengals, or even the Browns if they can't keep their NT.

I took Raji but if I was to choose again I would go with other and take Brian Cushing. Guy has a good work ethic and would work well as another OLB.

I am going to leave it to you weekend warriors and put this last post in.

IF Raji is not there I would try to find a trade partner and go after Perry later around 18 or 20. That is unless the first 8 teams buy into this crap about Andre Smith. If he's there you JUMP on it. The kid is clean and never had an attitude or work ethic problem. That comes from Saban who tolerates nothing but full effort.

Perry was hurt for awhile and his numbers were a little down but the kid is quick, plays with the same motor all game long, and I challenge that Raji could do in the South East conference what Perry has done. He's played against the Florida's, Georgia's, LSU's etc, and that is definately better competition than Raji had to face.

He's flying under Raji's radar by far but I would be fine backing up and getting this kid on the roster.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
