It is always fun to try and outsmart Uncle Ted. He usually has an UDFA or two make the team. Schum is already gone. It will be a little easier once they actually put on pads and play a few meaningless games but here were go.
Personally I can't help but wonder if GB will keep 7 WR again this year. Perhaps they will need to go with another on the OL. Maybe 6 CB and 5 S.

APC is giivng it their best shot.

I think my list looks surprisingly like theirs... though I'm having trouble seeing only two ILBers (plus the heavy Safeties) at ILB.

Suspensions: NT Guion (ie not on the 53 man roster to start the season).

They'll probably go one less WR than mine, but I can't figure which one, so I just left 7 of them, and cut other positions. I also figure I could be wrong with cutting Callahan (especially if they're serious about trading Hundley soon), and not keeping all 3 rookie RBs... but I had to make cuts somewhere.

And while I don't love the 6th OLB or CB... there are certain position you should never go light on... especially when you got injury prone players there which is the case with the Packers.

Also Packers tilt the process towards rookie draft picks if they show potential, and I'm not used to this many rookie draft picks not making it, of course we normally haven't had this many low rookie draft picks either.

Beast's TOO EARLY Mock 53 Man Roster (early june)
QB (2): Rodgers, Hundley
RB (3): Montgomery, Williams, Mays
FB (1): Ripkowski
TE (3): Bennett, Rodgers, Kendricks
WR (7): Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Allison, Janis, Davis, Yancey
OT (4): Bakhtiari , Bulaga, Spriggs, Murphy
LG (3): Taylor, Evans, Patrick
OC (2): Linsley, Barclay

DE/DT (3): Daniels, Lowry, Adams
NT/DT (2): Clark, Jean-Francois
OLB (6): Matthews, Perry, Fackrell, Elliott, Biegel, Gilbert
ILB (3): Martinez, Ryan, Thomas
CB (6): Gunter, House, Randall, Rollins, King, Hawkins
S (5): Clinton-Dix, Burnett, Brice, Jones, Evans

STs: Crosby, Vogel, Goode

(Yes, I know Goode isn't currently on the roster... but he wasn't last year either and still made it, and while they're trying to replace him with a younger model, Crosby has made a GREAT case for Goode and he hasn't signed elsewhere... Crosby case for Goode is that Crosby claims he's NEVER seen Goode mess up a snap... not even in practice).

Listed of just missed it guys (in order of position)
QB Callahan
RB Jones (rookie draft pick)
WR Dupre (rookie draft pick)
OG/C Amichia (rookie draft pick)
DL Ringo
DL Price
ILB Heiman
ILB Tally
OLB Calvin
ALL of the CBs... because I think there a number of them that could make an UDFA push for that last spot.

I think I'll like RB Jones more when I see the RBs take the field, but I sorta fell in love with RB Mays Junior tape... of course his Senior tape wasn't that good because he was injured, which is why some thought he would go undrafted.

I like OG/C Amichia, but that might just be a hard group to make this year, but there will clearly be openings next year... they may try to keep him on the 53 man roster just so no one can take him before next year.

DL Ringo and DL Price, they both were on the 53 man roster last year, and did well in limited roles... but with adding Jean Francois and Adams it's harder to make the list... also I figure the Packers HAVE to either keep 6 DL or 6 OLB... I went with the 6th OLB because that's what the Packers do more often, but if they're not ready, it very well could be a 6th DL instead.

ILB Heiman and ILB Tally... simple put, I like Heiman... and I got a friend who really like Tally... I don't think they'll make the 53 man roster thought as the ILB is somewhat a dying position with more and more Safeties dropping down to LB, including Burnett and most likely soon to be the Packers largest S and 2nd round pick Josh Jones.

OLB Calvin... Calvin seems interesting and has some talent, I just went with Gilbert because he looked good last training camp and looked like he might of been one of the last one cut as he was playing pretty well in preseason.

All of the CBs... I think the 6th CB spot is a bit of a free for all. Anyone could potentially step up... and while I love Hawkins ball skills to attack the ball in the air... his skill sets seem to be perfect for zone coverage... and the Packers prefer playing man coverage. Also Hawkins likes to gamble (which zone coverage CBs can do as they almost always have Safety help over the top... while in man coverage... you better be darn good/smart at it or you're gonna get BURNT!!... which got Hawkins benched.)

Nice assessment beast. It will be interesting to see if GB trades Huntley this year or not.
I didn't count them all but barring injury 45-48 of the positions are all ready taken and the rest of the 90 are fighting for the last few slots.

I got to 40 locked positions with a couple of very close calls that I went away from.
After my locks they still need (minimum for depth)
40 locked
2 RBs
2 WRs
1 OL (and probably 2 really)
1 Edge (either DE or OLB)
1 CB
1 P
1 LS
4 Wild Cards open for any position... (which one will probably be used on a WR and another on OL)

My guesses for Positions already locked up (assuming they're healthy)
QB (2): Rodgers, Hundley
RB (1): Montgomery
FB (1): Ripkowski
TE (3): Bennett, Rodgers, Kendricks
WR (3): Nelson, Cobb, Adams
OT (3): Bakhtiari , Bulaga, Spriggs
LG (1): Taylor
OC (2): Linsley, Barclay

DE/DT (3): Daniels, Lowry, Adams
NT/DT (2): Clark, Jean-Francois
OLB (5): Matthews, Perry, Fackrell, Elliott, Biegel
ILB (3): Martinez, Ryan, Thomas
CB (5): Gunter, House, Randall, Rollins, King
S (5): Clinton-Dix, Burnett, Brice, Jones, Evans

STs (1): Crosby

RB Williams is probably a lock... I just don't want to official count him over the other rookie RBs because I want to be fair and give them equal chance... but probably reality is that he's a lock if healthy.

WR Allison - I was tempted to have him as a locked, but he's probably not quite there.

WR Janis - I want to put Janis on the locked list because of his ST value... but Trevor Davis also has potentially great ST value with his return skills (as well as maybe more potential value at WR) and there is just so much competition at WR that I can't quite official put Janis here.

OG Evans - The Seahawks fans thought he was a lock last year, and then they released him when they thought younger players were able to step up and the Packers have younger (Murphy/Patrick/etc) players that potentially step up as well this year... as well as maybe Barclay.

C Barclay - I have him as a lock because teams need a back-up Center and MM keeps saying he see Barclay as a starter which might make him locked.

NT Jean-Francois - I was tempted to take him off the list like OG Evans, but I'm not sure if the young players Ringo/Price as much potential to straight beat him out, plus they need another run defender where Ringo strength is more pass rush. Plus split'em one and one since I'm mainly trying to see how many roster spots are being locked/vs fighting for.

S Evans - Evans is not a lock if you just look at Safety alone... but when you consider reports that suggest Burnett and Jones are working a god bit at slot/sub-package LB positions and not solely at true Safety position... that raises the chances that a 5th Safety could be taking the slot that formerly was used on a 4th ILB... especially with Evans ST value.

Beast's TOO EARLY Mock 53 Man Roster (mid July)

Offense
QB (3): Rodgers, Hundley, Callahan
RB (4): Montgomery, Williams, Jones, Mays
FB (1): Ripkowski
TE (3): Bennett, Kendricks, Rodgers
WR (6): Nelson, Cobb, Adams, Davis, Dupre, Janis
OT (4): Bakhtiari, Bulaga, Spriggs, Murphy
OG (2): Taylor, Evans
OC (1): Linsley, Barclay

- I think Packers would like to trade Hundley for a good value, but probably won't be able to get it until maybe the next offseason. Packers have faith in Callahan as a future #2 QB.

- I have a strange hope/feeling that Davis will break out, which could be totally wrong. Then had to get a rookie WR and Janis is more being kept as a ST guy than a WR.

- I think the Packers would like to keep another OL with all the their four top inside linemen all being in contract years. But with keeping 3 QBs, 4 RB and 6 WR it just wasn't working.

Defense
NT (2): Clark, Jean Francois
DT (3): Daniels, Lowry, Adams
OLB (6): Matthews, Perry, Fackrell, Elliott, Biegel, Gilbert
ILB (3): Martinez, Ryan, Thomas
CB (6): House, Gunter, Randall, Rollins, King, Waters
SS (3): Burnett, Jones, Evans
FS (2): Clinton-Dix, Brice

- I think Gilbert vs Calvin could be an interesting battle for the last OLB spot

- I switched the last CB spot to Waters because of the CB coach telling everyone to watch out for him, and because while Hawkins has talent, I think he's a better fit in zone defenses and has seemed to be in the coaches dog house at times.

- I think the Packers are going with more 5 S and 3 ILB, with Burnett and Jones working more at ILB. Also Evans for right now is mainly a ST guy.

Special Teams / Other List
K Crosby
P Vogel
LS Hart
Suspension: NT Guion
PUP: CB Goodson

- I'm strongly thinking if Hart make a few mistake, that LS Brett Goode could be back with the Pack.

- I feel the punter spot is wide open between Vogel and all the other punters who finish #2 on their rosters.

- They haven't released Guion yet... so maybe they'll keep him until his suspension is up. I'm just guessing they must really like him in the locker room or something we don't know about.

It's so hard to make a 53 without cutting worthwhile players but that will get easier when a few get injured. IR will get some project players stashed on it to see how they fare in 2018. Which will make room for some of these marginal players who could contribute asap.

Also you (or others) could always make a 63 (or how many) worthwhile players you think there are and act others who they would release. I'm just trying to get some activity going, because it seems like there is no decent news or excitement right now.

RRodgers - if Ted Thompson was satisfied, why did he sign TWO FA TEs?  He should feel no more secure than Geronimo or Janis.

Thomas - the involvement of the safeties at ILB may put him out of work.

Eliot - Time is now to step up and perform or go get some stockboy applications for Fleet Farm or Walmart.

Agree with your reasoning on RJF, Barclay, and the Evans twins.

- R. Rodgers - I never said Ted Thompson was satisfied. I think the Packers will be keeping at least 3 TEs, and I think R. Rodgers is a lock to be within the top 3 TEs on the Packers rosters. I don't see Sandland or Peck beating out Rodgers.

- Thomas - The involvement of the Safeties at ILB is most likely going to take the 4th ILB spot... but Thomas seemed to be clearly in the top 3 ILB last year... of course maybe I'm over rating Thomas and underrating someone like Jordan Tripp, Cody Heiman, or David Talley. So I'll take Thomas off the locked list, and put him on my inside bubble list.

- Elliot - At OLBers they normally keep 6. Matthews, Perry, Fackrell and Biegel take up four spots, leaving two spots open... and Elliot is also a ST stud so clearly he's got the tie breaker... what two other OLBers could clearly beat him out? I don't see it, so I believe a healthy Elliot is a clearly a lock.

- Edited: Safety Evans, I also need to take him off the locked list, because while I think it's a good chance they keep 5 Safeties (with 3 ILBers)... that's not a lock, and he's not a lock if another UDFA like Brice comes around. There is also Jermaine Whitehead (if he can play ST correctly) and I've heard that rookies Aaron Taylor's change of direction and quickness stood out in shorts.
