More and more, I'm wondering why couldn't they just keep sudden death rules?
It's extremely hard if not impossible to make rules that are completely
short, fair, exciting and short... yet the NFL (imo) stupidly keeps trying that...
I believe if they want what's best for the NFL they need to cut one of those three out.
~ If you want Short and Fair (but not exciting) you go with a tie after the 4th quarter (for the regular season games)
~ If you want Short and Exciting (but maybe not fair), you go with sudden death!
~ If you want Fair and Exciting (but maybe not Short), you keep playing another quarter until someone wins.
The NFL is (ONCE AGAIN) making their own mess, which they'll have to clean up later with egg all over their face... I truly believe the NFL business system is stuck at least a full decade behind, and maybe more than one decade... because really at times they're their own biggest problem, as they can't get out of their own way.
