No shock for me, Ted signs his own and when he cant 'em, he gets 'em from the outside, it is what he's always done. But, it is a shock that it is Bennett, he is totally insane. Bennett to GB is the feeling I get when I see a hot chick with some dorky looking short fat guy with no money, it just does not seem like a match.
As far as football there is no comparison to Cook. Bennett is 100% insane but he is a very good TE and in a totally different class than Cook. Bennett is what I thought R.Rodgers could ascend to and it appears he's never going to get there. Bennett is a great blocker, runs great routes, uses his body for leverage and has a good feel for when the guy covering him is shifting his weight. He's not as fast as Cook, but like Rodgers he's fast enough to threaten any part of the field I think Bennett is extremely intelligent, so I don't think he'll have problems picking up the playbook, which was holding Cook back and was hoping if he was resigned he'd be better in 2nd yr.
Bennett is insane in much the same way Daniels is. This may not be a bad thing. But, I'll tell you this. Every receiver coming to GB searches like in a Where's Waldo book for Rodgers' asshole so they can implant their nose as firmly as possible up it. I dont see Bennett doing this; if Rodgers tries to pull his trust crap with Martellus, Rodgers will get a 275 pound bag of Bennett's shit all up in his grill. This could be very good for Rodgers, he'll be afraid of him.
Bennett may have a grudge v. Bears; here is an unbelievable story.
In Training camp 2014 Bennett got a 6 day team suspension when Kyle Fuller tackled Bennett by face mask and Bennett got up and violently slammed Fuller right on his head
In an interview in October ’16 he said [This is more than 2 years later]:
“I got up I calmly walked to him I picked him up by his neck and I slammed him and I told I could be punching you right now but I don’t want to then I let it go."
[Then Brandon Marshall was telling him he could have hurt Fuller] Bennett said, "Brandon do you want to talk or fight---He said, I’m a 6 time bro bowler---Brandon, 6 time pro bowlers can get knocked out too."
[Later in interview he said]
"How do you expect me to react at some point I gotta set the tone---I cant help it if you feel I fight with the team---ya I fight with the team---I grew up fighting---that is the difference between me and a lot of mother fuckers on the team I fight to win. You got a bunch of bitches on the roster that don’t fight to win they just push and shove, you cant win with that.
