Since winning the Super Bowl in 2010, the Packers have used 5 picks in the 1st round and 3 picks in 2nd round on defense.

2016 1 27 NT Kenny Clark
2015 1 30 DB Damarious Randall
2015 2 62 DB Quinten Rollins
2014 1 21 DB Ha`Sean Clinton-Dix
2013 1 26 DE Datone Jones
2012 1 28 DE Nick Perry
2012 2 51 DT Jerel Worthy
2012 2 62 DB Casey Hayward

I think you gotta hit on at least 1/3 (actually that's a Ron Wolf quote) of your draft picks. Personally, I feel in round one and two you gotta be batting more like .500 at least. Of the 8 picks, I see only two or three studs and by studs I mean solid starters who can contribute.

Kenny Clark - came on strong at the end of the season.
Randall - I think he's a bust
Rollins - probably going to be the better of the two in that draft
Clinton-Dix - as good as he is, he's equally shitty at tackling
Jones - did well at LB or whatever position they called it
Perry - monster ... when healthy ... rarely healthy
Worthy - is this guy in the NFL?
Hayward - 2015 draft plus injuries and Ladarius Gunter made him expendable

I know very little about college players coming into the draft so I'm not saying I knew we should taken someone else. I'm not that moron, but here's something that'll piss ya off. Maybe.

Landon Collins was taken 3 spots after D. Randall in 2015
Tyler Lockett was taken 7 spots after Q. Rollins in 2015
DeAndre Hopkins was taken right after Datone Jones in 2013
Travis Frederick was taken 5 spots after Datone Jones in 2013

To me I see alot of solid players that were drafted
T Buck had a long career and actually was pretty solid once he moved on
Teague and Simmons were solid players on our defense for a good time
Taylor was a very solid lineman for us
Newman was a very good CB for us until he got greedy
Verba and Sharper ended up with great careers
Franks was solid but did drop alot of passes
And Clifton to me was a stud that gave his live to the Packers and deserves Love.

So I would suggest Wolf did a Belichick type drafting.

Be nice to get something like that again and don't forget he also traded for a certain HOF QB and landed a HOF defensive player.

I think if we apply the same grading curve to both of their picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds, they are pretty close in results.

If I recall we do have a potential HOF QB now, Hard for any team to match the acquisition of Reggie but getting Woodson turned out pretty well also.

The secondary this year was hurt by having the start 4th and 5th CB for much of the season. If we go back to 2010 and say we play 1/2 the season without Woodson, Tramon and Shields I highly doubt we win the SB.

The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

2016 1 27 NT Kenny Clark => Too soon to grade.
2015 1 30 DB Damarious Randall => BUST
2015 2 62 DB Quinten Rollins => BUST
2014 1 21 DB Ha`Sean Clinton-Dix => Difficult to judge can be great or bust depending on what he does next season.
2013 1 26 DE Datone Jones => Not a 1st rounder, maybe a 2nd or 3rd.
2012 1 28 DE Nick Perry => Ok, but injuries have been a problem.
2012 2 51 DT Jerel Worthy => BUST
2012 2 62 DB Casey Hayward => Ok

You really have to watch Randall against Atlanta to write "BUST" in his card.

It's really unbelievable, he starts the play at about 2 miles from his WR, if the WR moves he stays put, covering no one. If the WR runs a route he carefully approaches but never within 5 yards of the receiver. He can't tackle and he avoids contact at all costs.

The only really concerning thing to me about Randall is he doesn't really anticipate routes well and before he was injured (last year) he had the athleticism to make up for it and this year he couldn't keep up. You can't really blame him for giving a cushion that's Capers defense and all the DBs were doing that especially in the ATL game.

What bugs me is a lot of the time all of the DBs are looking around standing up trying to figure out what to do just moments before the snap. We see what happens to rookies when they come into their 2nd or 3rd year after they stopped thinking about what to do and can "play fast" I wan't to see our DBs in a scheme where they aren't spending the entire time pre snap trying to figure out what they are supposed to do then when the ball is snapped they are all on a different page from eachother. That stuff shouldn't be happening often after the first few weeks let alone week 19 or 20

Another thing to note when evaluating Randall is the guy is for sure a fantastic athlete. Perceptions can be different from person to person but the guy I saw out there this year was a crap athlete. How much of that change is a matter of confidence or injury I don't know but I need to see him healthy before I make a judgment of his future.

beast (18m) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (19m) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (29m) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (41m) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (51m) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (1h) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (1h) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (1h) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (2h) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (2h) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (2h) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (2h) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (2h) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (3h) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (3h) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (4h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (4h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (5h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (5h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (5h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (5h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (5h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (5h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (5h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (5h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (5h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (5h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (5h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (5h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (5h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (5h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (5h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (5h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (5h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (5h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (6h) : Packers will get in
beast (6h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (6h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (6h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (7h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (9h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (9h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (9h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (9h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (19h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
