I'll believe it when I see it, though I wouldn't be surprised.

The article cited Demovsky in another article predicting what'll happen in the off-season. That's all it is.

I'm not surprised if it's true... unavailable and then getting in trouble with law enforcement at the same time... on top of the injury possible being a reoccurring injury that is more likely to keep happening and a high cap number is a horrible combo.

Also the Packers have seemed to get more serious about kicking guys with multiple problems out the door ...

Personally, I think Sam's days playing football are done.. not just in Green Bay. He may try to play again, but the risk is great with that many dingers.

I don't think he'll be released. I'm thinking he'll be put on the Reserve/Retired list OR Shields will retire. I wouldn't be surprised he if thinks "I got a ring, I got money, I wanna smoke weed without consequence and these concussions are too much, thanks ya'all!".

I think he gets $30mil from this contract, set for life financially, just hoping for his sake no CTE.

If I were him I'd retire, I hope he does. It's not worth the risk.

Sam would either have to totally restructure his contract or be cut. We can't pay what his is making to be the high risk he is. It is unfortunate that concussions are so unpredictable in their recovery time and doctors cannot tell a player that they are done. I believe a doctor should not allow Sam to ever play again, but I don't know if there is a medical way to predict what another concussion would mean in terms of his long term health as we don't even know what this current one's effects will be. All I know is if you are IR'd for most of the season due to a concussion your brain must be in dangerous territory.
