Half full:
First half defense. Yeah, the cowboys were out of sorts but the defense did about as good as I could have possibly imagined them doing in the first half. This was a 13-3 team with no glaring weaknesses on offense and the defense kept them well in check
First half offense. Kept rolling and kept piling on the points. I was happy with the results but not overconfident. Kept on saying "Keep the pedal to the metal. Can't settle for field goals" even when we were up multiple scores - The Packers just aren't solid enough to put in 4 solid quarters on offense and defense, and this secondary isn't going to be able to keep a team with a dominant line and a legitmate rushing and passing game in check all game. Defense did their job early, offense built up enough of a lead, and the Packers did just good enough to eek one out.
McCarthy - Apart from the idiotic run on 3rd and 2 on the second to last drive where even my grandma could tell they were going to run it and get slaughtered, no playcalling complaints from me on offense which is a first for me this season. Packers kept being moderately aggressive and stuck with what was working, didn't fall back into the usual conservative crap.
Micah Hyde - Dude keeps on getting better and better. Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but he reminds me a bit of a less physical Charles Woodson.
Mason Crosby - Duh.

Half Empty
Defensive Adjustments - Didn't like the fact that we fell back to zone later in the game, although it's possible this was due to Burnett's injury and lack of confidence in Brice.
Clay Matthews - It's not just him that's an issue but he just doesn't seem to be a factor anymore.

Tough game - always a challenge playing on the road in the playoffs. Scored early as we needed to, and the defense did just enough to get the job done. It wasn't the prettiest game, but you have to take any win you can get in postseason.

Can we add the officiating crew on the half empty? They were horrible. Glad we overcame so the Cryboys fans can go back to their usual whining.

Good job Pack!

Shannon Sharpe tears Skip Bayless a new hole. Only Skippy is too stupid. Skippy ignores what doesn't suit his rant. It's amazing that Skippy argues with an All Pro NFL player. Skip probably got D's in high school PE but he knows more than a guy who excelled at the game.

Recipe for victory: Home, Dome, Dome, Dome!!!!

On last drive McCarthy/Rodgers were reckless; they should have kneeled three times, called a TO and let Mason boot the 93 yard FG.

Josh Hawkins played a great game! He played LCB in Dime after Burnett went down. They moved Randall to slot and Hyde played typically an ILB-type position, when Hawkins came in. Dallas only threw at him once and that was caught by Williams on a 24 yard deep-In on Dallas’ last drive. Hawkins was a yard off of Williams, so this was average coverage, but he used his speed to close and hit Williams as ball arrived. He had 4-5 snaps in 2Q, so before halftime they knew Hawkins was playing LCB during half-tome adjustments. There is no doubt they discussed exploiting Josh and Dak looked his way several times; but once, ONLY ONCE, did they throw in his direction. He had his WRs blanketed.

Clark played his best game and was close to dominant. He is now the starter over Guion. 11:33 1Q, He pushed Martin back into Prescott, to help cause INC on 3rd and 2 just before Dallas’ 1st FG. At 5:55 1Q he manhandled Leary pushing him back to Prescott as well. At 4:21 2Q GB was in base and he played 0 tech NT; he was d-teamed by Frederick and Martin and he was pushed back about 1.5 yards, as Elliot went by he was able to separate and grab and drag him down for 5 yrd gain, this result is better than normal given the quality of the Dallas Players involved. 1:19 2Q, he drove Leary back into Prescott causing pass to be airmailed. At 1:14 2Q, Dallas D-teamed Clark instead of Daniels, Clark got no penetration but timed his jump perfect to try to knock down pass, which was too high for him to do so. At 5:54 3Q Frederick couldn’t execute a reach block and Clark penetrated 1.5 yards into backfield, had Elliot, but missed tackle. At 1:48 in 3Q Clark was brilliant not only sniffing the screen, but tackling Elliot 1 on 1. 13:50 4Q he held his ground on d-team allowing Perry to stuff a Elliot run. 13:10 4Q he alertly prevented Prescott from scrambling right, when Prescott turned back Perry got a sack. 9:14 4Q GB in base, he’s playing 0tech NT, play goes GB left, he is engaged by Frederick, but Clark moved left 3-4 yards tracking Zeke without giving ground all the while engaging Frederick, Clark came off Frederick to make tackle, not sure how Elliot fell for 4 yards, but this was the play of a allpro NT and most of his other plays were in the 3 tech. Ted got a monster in Clark.

Saw Brice make 3 nice plays, one tackling Zeke by himself 3:38 2Q for no gain and made a nice break and track on the ball on the dropped INT dropped. Also made a nice open field tackle sticking it to Beasley, dumping him on his head. W/o the All-22 it hard to evaluate safety play. Saw him make one misstep v NYG that led to OBJ being wide open on GB’s left sideline, but Manning over threw. At 1:19 2Q he picked-up Witten on pass off from Ryan like he’d been doing it for years. At 5:54 3Q Brice was in run support and had contain and he followed the flow inside rather than executing his assignment, which led to 9 yard gain.

On D. Randall, who had a pretty bad game, one of the things that separates the men from the boys is being able to play well when injured. Randall may be one of those guys that is a stud only when feeling 100%.

^^^^Agree Barfan. Hawkins is probably our "purest" CB at this point, which is funny. Hawkins can blanket WRs and reminds me of Davon House. Gunter is another thing, he just makes the WR go crazy, it worked with OBJ, not so well with Dez but Gunter is making the most he can with his abilities.

Do you think Gunter and Hawkins will start against Atlanta? Same question on a different form: Should they start? I'm afraid we are going to see Randall or Rollins until they get toasted so badly that the coaches bring Hawkins.

beast (53m) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (8h) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (13h) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (15h) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (23-Dec) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (23-Dec) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (23-Dec) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (23-Dec) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (23-Dec) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I literally just said it.
