Lots of players turning to this plant since the league has cracked down harder over the pain killer epidemic. What does the league do here? This issue isn't going away.

It makes a great pain killer and sleep aid but I can't imagine driving or doing much of anything else after using it.
I couldn't care less who is using it as a pain killer, which I'm sure a lot of athletes do.

maybe I should save this for a different discussion but ... lots of people feel/think smoking pot is alot less damaging then drinking ...

I for example dont drink anymore well maybe 2 times a year? It really messes me up health wise - so basically is no fun. While pot on the other hand ... in the past ... which I never did that often anyways ... dont see any repercussions except eating everything in site ;)

anyways agree thou; driving while using wouldnt be a good idea.

To put it bluntly, Geronimo is going to burn the corners and smoke the safeties and will be dressed all spliffy at the post game presser eating a bag of Cheetos.

Medicinal, recreational or one of his buddies accidentally dropped it in the car, it was a dumb move on his part. In Sept he was, at best, 7th on the depth chart. He had no room to make any mistakes at all. Playing his butt on still might not have given his a slot on the PS.

On a broader scope with more and more states softening their perception of the weed, it will be interesting to see how future CBAs are shaped. Will NFL Inc allow players to use it as an effective pain killer? Will the players have to have some kind of acknowledgement from the team's medical staff? Will it take 5 years or 10 years or more before the powers that be relent? Could this be the leverage the NFL is looking for to add 2 more regular season games?
