How do you feel about the Defense's chances next week after this impressive performance? They single-handedly kept the Packers in the game. Yeah drops didn't help the Giants but they happen and even if the Giants put up 13, game is still manageable with 5 minutes left in the first especially with the Packers getting the ball in the second..

The Packers defense strength is their run stopping skills, especially the interior... but they're not the best in the NFL... while the Cowboys run offense is the best in the NFL, and their OL is the best in the NFL... so strength vs strength the Cowboys offense has the edge over the Packers defense. Which might mean they can control the clock as well.

The big question is weakness vs weakness in the passing game... if the Cowboys offense also controls that over the Packers defense, then the Packers defense is in for a long day on the field. Looking at match-ups they got very talented WRs and TE... which could be spread the Packers out some.

I see this as a game where the offense will put up a ton of yards... if the Packers offense struggles then the Packers are in trouble. My hope is that the Packers can stop them in the red zone with a smaller field to defend, they could be better (at least I'm hoping).

[size=6]It is a well known fact, in any sport, that there is generally some advantage to playing on your home field in front of your teams fans. In addition , there is also some disadvantage to have to pack and travel to another city.

But it's also well known fact that passing attacks seem to do better on turf inside like they have in Dallas, than in grass they have in GB. And consider it's seems like it's going to be the Packers passing attack, vs the Cowboys running attack, helping the passing attack could be a good thing for this game.

Next, mistakes can occur to hurt either team. The trick is to entice Lady Luck to smile upon you and frown on your opponent. Taking the advantage to the scoreboard should not, IMO, be too difficult for Mr. Rodgers and his associates.

The challenge will rest most glaringly with the GB Defense. The CB's and Safety's will have to play above and beyond the call of duty. The D-Line will need to deliver a HOF performance against Dallas's great O-Line. The GB Linebackers play will prove to be the key to this game. They must on one play blitz through to harass/sack Prescott or catch Elliot in their backfield. Then on the next play fool everyone as they drop into coverage to aid the secondary of the Packers. Yes, IMO, the small group of GB's Linebackers will be the key deciding factor in this Divisional playoff game.

Dallas is overrated, and their fans are assholes. Let's embarrass them and get ready for the NFC championship.

I'm thinking we're going to be hard pressed to stop their offense, and consequently we're going to have to be scoring TDs most possessions.

That said, their QB is a rookie, playing in his first NFL playoff game. He's got Romo to help him get ready, but he's still a rookie. If our D can get a couple of turn overs, that could be the difference.

That's one of the Cowboys biggest strengths is they have controlled the clock and kept their defense off the field and run out the clock after getting a good lead.

IMO, it makes no real difference to Dak Prescott weather he is playing in his 1st reg. season game or his 1st ever playoff game, nothing rattles this rookie QB. If he is not a Pro-Bowl QB, he should be . He plays like a 10 year veteran. After a bad play, he moves on to his teams next play. His poise, athletic ability, and physical skills have helped make him and his team the #1 seed in the NFC.

That said, I still believe that Prescott and his Cows can be defeated. It will require the same type of pressure that teams have used in the past to defeat the likes of Tom Brady. The Packer Defense will need to be in Prescott's face ALL DAY LONG. They can't let this guy catch his breath without getting hit ! At the same time, they must also keep a watchful eye on there League leading RB. The CB's and Safety's will as I posted before have to play,"above and beyond the call of duty".

IMO, it DOES make a difference, just how much of one remains to be seen. Just as I think it would make a difference if he were playing in the Super Bowl as a rookie.

There's more stress involved (it's win or go home, etc), and I would expect a rookie who's never been in that situation to have a harder time dealing with it than a veteran who's been there, done that. If we can get a lead, we may be able to fluster him into some mistakes.

That said, I think it's going to be mitigated by having two weeks to prepare, the fact it's a home game vs a road game, having a mentor (Romo) to help him, etc.

The two weeks to prepare is a double-edged sword, however--it's a departure from the regular season routine, so that has the potential to throw him off somewhat (a little rust, etc).

I would agree he appeared more poised than a rookie in the regular season. We'll see if that continues into the playoffs.

In any event, I still believe we're going to be hard pressed to stop their offense with their OL and run - pass balance.

macbob, you have completely missed the mark. Nothing rattles Dallas's rookie QB.

You have incorrectly "assumed" that Prescott is like every other rookie QB, he is not . He plays QB like a 10 year veteran. You bust up one of his plays and then he burns your ass on the next play. Jerry Jones has hit the LOTTO with Dak Prescott. However, Dallas can be beat. Look to my past postings in this thread and you will see what Dom Capers already knows.

GB's Offense and Special Teams are not the overriding factors in this game, it's going rest heavily on the Packer Defense.
