I freaking love the 3-4. It's just my kind of defense. That said, we've gotten out asses kicked by injuries and need more talent up-front. We can make this work though.

Problem is if you are given a perfectly good peg it's better to carve out a space for it to fit then to try jamming it into one it's not meant for or favoring a shitty peg that does fit. There aren't enough good pegs out there to get too picky about it.

That's because the holes are not round... this has been a 4-2 team for years... and people keep judging it based on the 3-4 label which has been outdated... but the NFL forces over simplification in labels. And maybe that's why Matthews is getting hurt more and as people have said, playing worse... because he's an 3-4 OLB playing 4-2 DE.

Fans have complained about defense 4-3 players. .. but there is a reason... because the Packers are a 4-2 team.
