PACKERS NOT YET PUSHING FOR CANTY

With Cowboys free-agent defensive end Chris Canty engaging in an extended visit with the Giants, Greg Bedard of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that the Packers have yet to make a play for Canty.
Agent Brad Blank told Bedard that the Packers had yet to make an offer for Canty, a 3-4 player who could move inside in a 4-3 scheme.
I dont feel at this moment and this could change any form of representation from the Packers that Im going to get a deal from them, Blank said. And you know the old saying: one in the hand is worth two in the bush.
And then the Packers called Blank. So maybe something will still happen.
The impetus could come from the fact that Packers defensive tackle Colin Cole has signed with the Seahawks.
Canty initially was scheduled to visit the Redskins, but the Skins pulled the plug once they signed defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
Before free agency launched, Canty mused about possibly signing with the Dolphins, given that V.P. of football operations Bill Parcells drafted Canty while coaching the Cowboys. But the Fins have yet to jump into the fray.
