over-rated is not the right word. I mean, how can you say he was over-rated at this point in his career? I would say something like under-proven... not a word, i know. it's one step above unproven. Sort of like last offseason, Ryan Grant was under-proven.

You're right bozz, really no way to tell until he has proven he can play with the Chiefs. I just don't think he's proven he's a franchise QB yet.

I liked Cassel (he got me lots of fantasy points), but I just don't see him throwing for 3k and mid 20's for TD's with the Chiefs. It would be cool for him to do well, I just don't see it.

Well alot of players and coaches around the league think hes a top 5-8 qb in the league. They have said this over and over on espn and nfl network and i guess like everyone says the players and coaches know more than we do.

Granted on this board i understand people don't like to praise anyone but Rodgers but i think if you call Cassell an average or ok qb you have to do the same with Rodgers. Alot of comparisons they both played 1 full year and both got alot of money for doing so. Both had to sit behind top qbs for a few years and then had to step in with alot of pressure.

I'm just going to hold my verdict on Cassell just like i do with Rodgers let them play a few years before claiming they are the next best thing or the elite qb, because remember there have been alot of one year wonder qbs in this league.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

Name some names and cite some valid sources. You can't be saying things like this without providing a source. Especially if its all over. I've been listening and reading all over and I have not heard one person, coach, player or likewise say Cassel is a top 5 - 8 QB. Now that it not saying it is not being said, just saying I haven't read/heard it.

I know you won't disappoint me or us and will come through!

Adam Schefter said it on NFL Network. He's usually an intelligent guy, but this time, he didn't lead his team to the playoffs and his stats were top 10 in the league tops. And with those weapons? During the season people had complaints about his deep accuracy, and now they've all suddenly vanished? I don't get it. He didn't have that great of a season, with a team that went 16-0 last year.

I thought he looked good for his first year starting. He did a lot more right than wrong. Being thrown into the fire the way he was he performed well. In many ways he reminded me of our very own Aaron Rodgers.

I was just going to post a link to a video where they were praising him from nfl network Fin. Well ok can't the same be said about Rodgers? Pats went from 16-0 to 11-5 and the Packers went from 13-3 to 6-10?

Are we talking about Aaron Rodgers here? I only once said that name to compare Tom Brady's STATS (before 2007) to his. Stats do not entirely indicate how he did on the field. How Aaron did on the field can be looked at from many angles, but let's not talk about them in here.

I still think Matt Cassell is either overrated or is too soon considered a franchise QB, and will continue to think that way, until he proves he can get the job done in KC.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
