No team can excel if their QB is unwilling to throw to the open guy and instead holds the ball for 8+.

He must also know that he can not hold the ball forever.

Hmm there is some kind of error in your logic.

Final lines sums it all up.
"So if you want to know why the Packers are 8-12 in their last 20 regular-season games, start with the lifeblood of the team. Ted Thompson’s drafts haven’t been what they were."

Someone else alluded to this...
Rodgers - 19.5 mil (12.4% of cap)
CM3 - 13.7 mil (8.9% of cap)
Shields - 12 mil (7.7% of cap)
Peppers - 10.5 mil (6.8% of cap)
Cobb - 9.1 mil (5.9% of cap)
Jordy - 8.3 mil (5.3 % of cap)

To be fair, next on the list are Daniels, Lang, Burnett, Bulaga, and Perry who have all been relatively to significantly impactful this year. With that said, aside from Rodgers (maybe) there isn't a Pro Bowl caliber player in the top six, and obviously three have missed significant time to injury or have might as well have (Peppers).
