Greg needs to get paid. Now-ish

He seems to want the market to set his price as he nears free agency. Takes two to tango.

GB certainly is sitting in excellent shape considering that football is heading for a couple of uncapped seasons.

My guess is they'll sign Greg Jennings and Nick Collins to extensions and they'll wait and see with Aaron Kampman.

They are saying that FA is starting tomorrow at 11 pm....wouldn't it make more since for it to start in the AM?

It starts at 12 am est time thats why. I saw an interesting thing about possible FA's next year and the uncapped season. Something about if the player don't have 6 years of service he can't become a free agent thats why Al Davis is spending so much this year.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

thats a ridiculous amount of cap space... it could possibly be due to the poor economy and they just dont wanna spend. i doubt they are gonna go wild with FA, but i could see the bucs bringing in haynesworth.

that's still too low, even for a dumpy economy. the salary floor will be about $106M in 2009, and if tampa is $50M beneath the cap that puts them at around $73M

After watching who Tampa dumped today, they are in full-on rebuilding mode with their new regime. I'm not to worried about extending someone like Kampman yet because we'll need to see how he does holding down the OLB in the new scheme. We can always slap the franchise tag on him if he does play well and can't get a new deal worked out.

Jennings and Collins I wouldn't mind seeing get extended this off-season either.

The league-wide cap number IS NOT 123 million for this year, it is 127 million, so go ahead and tack that on to the cap-room figure.

Vikings | Uncapped year could hurt T. Jackson
Thu, 26 Feb 2009 05:02:06 -0800

Rick Alonzo, of the Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson is entering the final year of his contract. He could, however, run into troubles if the 2010 season remains uncapped. If that happens, he would be a restricted free agent. Players need at least six years of service to be an unrestricted free agent in an uncapped year instead of the four during a capped year.

I didn't know where to put this but the uncapped year could hurt alot of players like Jennings. I saw something about Al Davis spending tons of cash this year because of that next year.

With that i see us signing Greg to a huge contract extension this fall.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)
