I know the Packers tend to draft the best player available, but I was wondering who you see out there at #9 who could fill a need role within the team as well as be a rookie starter. I know that his name has come up numerous times discussing the draft, but B.J. Raji looks like the perfect fit as a starting need on the team. I'd like to say Tackle, but I think Jason Smith and Eugene Monroe will be gone and perhaps even Andre Smith. I like Eric Wood and wonder if we could get him in the later rounds as he could also play Guard.

There are a bunch of players that would fit, and fill a position of need for the Pack this year.

5 I want to have. Curry, Monroe, Orakpo, Jason Smith, Raji.

Hopefully Detroit does go the QB route. Adding in other top picks Stafford, Crabtree, Jenkins, Maualuga. I have a good feeling that one of those 5 listed will be available at #9.

QBs will slide in this draft....and the Pack might be in position to really prosper in that scenario. My guess is that the Lions go OT.

I am thinking that as well or they go with Curry if there is problems making a deal with either Smith or Monroe. What is the point of drafting Stafford if he is not protected? I am really curious with Seattle's pick. Do they go QB if Stafford drops? Do they go with Crabtree if he drops? They also need O-Line help as they have never been the same since Hutch left.

I'm not sure what the pack will do with a stafford on the team.

Pay him alot of money and sit behind Rodgers?

I dont really like the looks of Maualuga - I mean dont get me wrong just dont think hes worth a #9 spot. Jenkins on the other hand would be a sweet pick at #9. Start grooming him up for when/if Harris leaves.

I'm not sure if raji will turn out to be that good. Or should I say be worth a #9 pick for us. We already have a bunch of DLmen that are on the short-side and weigh 300+.

I like the look of some of these DLmen that are 6'3+ 275+

I'd be happy with a Jenkins and a Tyson in the 1st and 2nd round

I have a strong feeling that Ted Thompson will draft raji if hes there.

ya pack def. needs Oline help. Just not sure what will be available and if it will be worth it at #9. I dont know what Oline is available in say the 2nd and 3rd round (dont we get 2 3rd rounders?)

I wouldn't throw my remote at the TV is Raji is taken #9. I don't consider height a big factor for NT. He needs to get under the Olineman, and get leverage. But if we miss on him, there is always Brace in the 2nd and we have the extra 3rd if we need to move up a little also.

If NT does not work out, there are some promising 300lb DT/DE in the draft that could be a nice complement opposite of Jenkins.

I would still like to see, 2 picks day 1 to be either OT, DE, NT, OLB. Nothing else on day 1.

Jenkins just fell out of the top 15 with timed 40s of 4.52 amd 4.58. Clearly, not the speed necessary to cover at the corner spot in the pros....he will likely be converted to safety.

Raji, Orakpo, Jason Smith, Brown appear to be whom we will slect from at #9....one of them will be there.

I like Clint Simtin with the second rounder. All the guy does is make plays.

Why the hell does everyone want Malcolm Jenkins? Right now, we have Harris and Woodson as starters, and Tramon Williams who could be #1 CB in a weaker team. Draft Jenkins and we got Pat Lee and Blackmon and have to carry 6 CBs. Harris retires, and we still have Woodson and Williams, hopefully by that time Pat Lee has been groomed to a nickel CB.

Raji has steadily risen over the past few weeks to be my top choice at #9. Orakpo is a close second - he looked like a monster at the combine and the production was obviously there in college.

My dream first 3 rounds, at this point, would be:
1st - BJ Raji
2nd - Larry English slips to us
3rd (a) - Jamon Meredith slips to us
3rd (b) - I wouldn't even see this pick because I would be running laps around my building high fiving myself.

English is sliding, and may be there in the early 2nd. He or Simtin are my choice for LB in the second, if in fact we go LB in the 2nd.

I like the Meredith pick as well.

beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
