I honestly wonder if the NFL sometimes tells teams they were right, just to get them to shut up and more on. OR they answer it in broken down some how... like the PI should not of been called for the leg entanglement because they were both playing the ball (and not mention the hand/grab/hold which is why it was called).

When I first saw the 66 yard pass interference call, I thought it was clearly a bad call because they both seemed to be playing the ball and did not look like the CB did anything on purpose that would make the Davis fall... but on the replay, you can see the CB holding onto Davis arm not letting him get away... which I think it against some hold... weather it's holding or PI, I'm not sure.

But isn't holding PI when the ball is in the air, or something like that.

Personally, I would like to see that play and all plays like it not flagged. There are far to many occasions where the only reason to throw a pass like it is because of the odds of a PI. That being, the way the rules are written and enforced today, it was a PI. Legs getting tangled is only NOT PI when that is the only contact. With the replay from the official who called the penalty, that would get called 10 out of 10 times. You can say the grab didn't do much, but it easily could have been enough to disrupt his balance to contribute to the fall and legs tangling. The official just happened to have a perfect angle to see all the contact.

I hope they never put PI up for review, only that the go back and let more hand play. Or start calling offensive PI as strict as they do defensive.

I forget which game it was (Lions or Jags) but TE Jared Cook beat his man deep and Rodgers threw it to him... and the defender ended up running into Cook as the ball went by... on replay (maybe slowed down replay) it looked like Cook purposely went for the PI call more than trying to grab the ball. And getting a PI call is just as good as a guy making a catch (heck it's better when you're short of the first/down line, because it's auto 1st down... and better when you're out of time... as the game can't end on a defensive penalty).

OPI is what 5 or 10 yards? While DPI is unlimited isn't quite right. Maybe it needs to be half the yard or something. Or some rule that if the ball isn't nearby (which will lead people to be upset by refs call) then you only get 5 or 10 yards or something).

But at times it does seem offensive players/teams are trying to get DPI at times instead of trying to make plays on the ball... or it's just as good. But it's hard to judge "acting" at times.

The rules are over adjusted to the offensives.

I agree with you here, but the fact of the matter is that it's a judgement call one way or another. You can change the penalty to be less severe but if the calls are still over-called then are things really any better? If you go too far in the other direction then why wouldn't a defender not in position to stop a perfectly thrown ball not just tackle the receiver? If it's a spot foul, he's not going to do that because it's an auto-completion anyways. If it's only half the yardage or not an auto-first down on a third and really long, why wouldn't he?

The Jacksonville game was a good example of them letting receivers and defenders play unless something flagrant happened. I'm a big fan of that. I just think that by changing the penalties you're not fixing the underlying issue and teams will just scheme around the rules in a way that will still result in a lot of flags.

Fact is, there are PLENTY of calls made that should not have been made, and just as many penalties missed and not called by the refs.
It happens in EVERY game.
So to moan about it does nothing. It's not like they are going to go back and replay the game to "fix" it.
The Packers have been screwed by calls just as many times.
Look at the end of the playoff overtime game against the Cardinals a few years ago. Aaron Rodgers is PULLED DOWN BY HIS FACEMASK, causing him to fumble and NO REF MADE THE CALL.
They handed the game to the Cardinals. And it was a dang PLAYOFF GAME.
Did the NFL go back and "fix" that screw up? Nope.

Mucky Tundra (1h) : Rude!

Zero2Cool (5h) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (8h) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (10h) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
