Josh was right last November and nothing has changed since. Yet, Mike McCarthy keeps saying this is a new season, new team. If true, why do we keep seeing the same mistakes?

I think that our offense has become too predictable. Teams know exactly what we're going to do every week. We need to show them some different things. We're not intimidating the defense right now. We're not making them think, so they can just play really fast. And obviously, we've just got to execute better. We're way too talented to not be playing at a high level right now. We need to execute what we do, and then do it better.

There is some truth to this. When I can sit on my couch and guess the play about 90% of the time, an NFL defense will surely at least match that.

Until it becomes panic time, you will usually see a run, followed by an attempt for 30+ yards that is uncatchable, and 3rd and long with Aaron holding the ball too long and either throwing it way off target or giving up a sack. You can be sure it will be followed up by a garbage punt giving them a short field - usually starting near FG range.

It's true to whatever degree.

But the fact is, Aaron's also not executing the offense. So I guess it's kind of a null point.

Many of us have been saying that for the last few years and defenses have it figured out. They don't have to defend inside the numbers for the first 10 yards past the LOS. There are very few quick hitter plays unless it is a bubble screen. So defenses guard deep and the sidelines until pressure makes Rodgers break pocket than they have 10.

I don't know if it is a coincidence that the area of the field that our offense doesn't pressure is the same area of the field our defense doesn't defend. Middle from the LOS to 10-15 yards.

The offense for the past few years has relied on Free penalty plays, and scramble drill. Along with the backshoulder.

The buck stops with coaching. As someone in Rodgers' stature, it's a huge freaking deal to bench him but IMO if it's week 6 and things haven't improved, the hell else is McCarthy going to do? If he finishes the season like this, I don't see him keeping his job. If he benches rodgers, people are going to be outraged but what's the worst that could happen? He gets fired anways?

Capers does a great job compensating for injuries and scheming around the positives of the talent he has while trying to mask the negatives. Wish he did a better job adjusting in-game, but still. Why the hell can't we figure out how to make things at least serviceable on offense?

I just don't see Rodgers getting benched. As long as the game is within reach he will be there and I can't say I disagree. If he is going to change he's going to have to do it on his own but with his attitude I'm not sure I see that coming any time soon either.

This is so true.

Against the Vikings we run 31 straight plays with the SAME 11 personnel, that's 4 full drives without making an offensive substitution.

Heck I would love to be a DC against such a team, you just figure out what to do and you keep doing it. I can even smoke a cigar on the sidelines.

I think Mike is becoming stubborn to the point of wanting to be fired. We run the chaos no-huddle offense with the same routes and the same players and we keep doing it.

I think I'm not alone if I say I miss the times we would substitute, huddle and come out in a surprising formation, get the defense confused, and repeat. From 2 RBs and Ripkowski to 5WRs, then no backfield, then 2 TEs, etc.
