McCarthy: 'I'm not a conservative coach'

Yes, yes you are.

Think what you want of Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, but there’s one thing he wants to make clear about his approach to the game.

“I’m not a conservative coach,” he said Tuesday morning.

McCarthy has contained his aggressiveness at times during the playoffs. It’s not hard to find situations where a gamble here, or maybe a risk there, could have made a difference. McCarthy said there’s a reason – if not multiple reasons – for every decision he makes from the sidelines.

If not conservative, then maybe scared.
At any rate successful none the less.
We can be thankful he's not Dan Devine or Lindy Infante.

While not always, he definitely has plenty of games on film where he has gone conservative

This is pretty funny.

I guess Mike doesn't know what the meaning of being a conservative coach is. One gamble play a game like the fake FG attempt vs the Bears or an onside kick every year doesn't make you a Jerry Glanville type gambler.

I don't know what a conservative coach is. As long they call the plays they believe will work best in a given scenario, that's fine with me.
