If we had to cut a lineman....we cut Sitton who has not missed a game since 2011 and yet Bulaga who can't stay on the field remains...interesting. 8.5 million Bulaga vs. 6.5 million Sitton...Interesting. Bulaga's backup Jason Spriggs and Sitton's backup Lane Taylor...Interesting. I don't get it. But in Teddy we Trust...

If you thought this then why weren't you posting about Sitton being a potential cut? You didn't because you NEVER in a million years thought this would happen. Now, that it has you act as though it makes sense to you? It doesn't make sense. The spin is bizarre.

I'm not even trying to defend it. I am, however, saying that unless Ted has gone insane this was something that he was considering prior to today. Given Ted considered this possibly happening, it is reasonable to expect that he would've had idea on how to fill Sitton's spot on the starting O-line.

I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that Plan-B is decent to the guy whose job it is to prepare a 53-man roster that will contend for the Superbowl.

Where was Plan B? We all knew we had Rodgers waiting in the wings behind Brett. There is NOBODY waiting in the wings. Lane Taylor? LMAO. Lane freaking Taylor? If it isn't Lane, then the guy starting will have taken ZERO snaps for us this pre-season at G. ZERO. So, Lane freaking Taylor or someone who has taken NO snaps. It's just not defensible in any sense. Those who defended playing Jared Cook at KC will have to wonder really hard about why we played NOBODY at G to prepare for Sitton's release other than Lane Taylor. I laugh when I type that dudes name...Lane...Taylor. Wow.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Over 10 teams have already expressed interest in Sitton, yet we released him for...NOTHING. The Packer way? Nope.

I think I'm a huge minority in this forum saying that I think Lane Taylor is a very good player.
I was happy with his new contract, but I never never would have seen this coming.

Maybe they think Sitton was a locker room problem if unhappy, maybe his back is not 100%, maybe his CAP space was too high and maybe they are confident in Taylor. But even then I'd have never in my sanity released Sitton while under contract without getting at least a 2nd round pick for him.

This is unbelievable.

So the Packers couldn't make a deal to trade Sitton ? Watch and see how fast another TEAM snaps him up and pays him what he is truly worth .

Tightwad Ted gets his way again and the Packers loose again.

HOW YOU LIKE TED NOW ? [tt]

Can't wait to hear what Aaron has to say. Sitton was incredibly popular per reports.

Kinda figured it was something on sittons end. It made more sense to pay Lang next offseason and let Sitton go and I bet Sitton just didn't want to wait for that. It sucks that this happened now though and not earlier in the offseason. I wonder how close Linsley is to coming back

beast (4m) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (5m) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (7m) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (3h) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (4h) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (4h) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (6h) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (6h) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (6h) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (9h) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (10h) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (17h) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (17h) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (17h) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (18h) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (18h) : Game not over yet
beast (18h) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (18h) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (18h) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (19h) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (20h) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (20h) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (20h) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21h) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21h) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (23h) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (23h) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (23h) : what's so funny?
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Bears are finalizing a deal to hire Ben Johnson as their head coach. (via @tompelissero )
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Looks like Lions OC Ben Johnson is going to be the Bears coach
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : TD but another failed 2 pt conversion!
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : Ravens still alive, but barely
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Or not...BUT THAT CATCH BY NACUA
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : WE MAY HAVE BEEN PREMATURE KANATA
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Time to make dinner
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Ouch!!!! Dagger for the Eagles
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : DAGGER
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : pass plays
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Seems some of their passes are too deep. Reminds me of MLF as well.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oren Burks with a clutch pass break up...I will now light myself on fire
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : a run on 2nd down and 17 from McVay? So that's where MLF gets it from!
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Do or die time for the Rams
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking field goals are impressive
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : Oh that might be a backbreaker
Mucky Tundra (19-Jan) : That's what I thought too, just wasn't sure
TheKanataThrilla (19-Jan) : Kicking doesn't make much sense
