No, he really is.
Last year was last year, what's Hundley done this year?
Callahan ain't hurt!
Better blocking? Surely you jest.

If the best thing you can say about someone is they aren't hurt maybe you need to reevaluate why you even like that player. Guess you don't remember how horrible our back up OL was last year too. Just because Callahan holds the ball for 5 seconds and 3 pump fakes then has to make a run for it doesn't mean the blocking was bad.

I don't get the praise for Callahan, he played "okish" mostly against 2nd and 3rd stringers.
Half a Hundley is probably better than Callahan who has no place in the NFL.

The big question is how many of the guys that played well in preseason we keep and how many of the players that played bad we cut.

From what I have seen and among the bubble players only:

Bad preseason:
- Kyle Murphy (this boy is horrible)
- Lane Taylor
- Burks and Ross
- Barrington, Ryan and Thomas
- Trevor Davis

Good preseason:
- Bradford (barely)
- Lucas Patrick
- Marwin Evans
- Josh Hawkins
- Kentrell Brice
- Geronimo Allison
- Reggie Gilbert
- Robertson Daniel

So do we keep Murphy because we drafted him?
Do we keep Taylor because we paid for him or Patrick ?
Are Burks or Ross worth a roster spot?
Do we have what it takes to cut ties with Barrington and Thomas?
Do we have a place for guys like Evans, Daniel, Hawkins, Brice ?

From most likely to less likely here are some moves I would make as GM:
- Cut Goodson
- Cut Murphy (hopeless), PUP Linsley, keep Lucas Patrick in the roster, then when Linsley is back cut Taylor if he hasn't improved otherwise Patrick.
- Keep Janis and Allison, Allison is needed at least until Janis recovers then we'll see, cut Davis hopes he clears waivers if not bad luck.
- Keep Josh Hawkins in the team, Cut Robertson Daniel and pray, really pray he clears waivers.
- Cut Elliot and keep Reggie Gilbert.
- IR Banjo and keep Kentrell Brice, maybe keep 5 safeties if Banjo can recover soon.
- Cut both Burks and Ross, play with 2RBs and if one gets hurt look for a street FA, it would be similar to what Burks or Ross produce.
- Cut Joe Thomas, keep the other 4 ILBs.
- Cut Micah Hyde and keep Marwin Evans, yes I said it. Abby can return the punts, Hyde can't cover nor hit, Evans can.

dfosterf (25-Jul) : Probably a homer access credential intimidation kinda thing
dfosterf (25-Jul) : Meathead "journalists" skip this, concentrating on operational revenue when convenient. They switch when net revenue is more favorable.
