There's plenty of guys who you can say are overrated, but I don't think Sitton and Lang are among them.

Overrated can also apply to players that are good but not great. Sitton is a great pass blocking guard but he's nowhere near as good in the run game. I believe he's judged mostly on how he is vs. the pass which makes him overrated if you're judging him on the whole.

Lang has improved. He's been very far from a great G for us over the years. Perhaps,he is ascending to it but he hasn't been great.

We have two solid guards one of which is a great pass blocker.

You're right. However, if you were after simply building a better running game that list would be longer.

Watching the first 2 drives of the 49er game I like what I saw. McCarthy is finally listening to me.

Rodgers under center a lot more than he has been the last couple years, letting Lacy and Starks get a little head of steam rather than basically draw plays when in the pistol/shotgun. Getting good push up the middle from Sitton, Tretter, Lang.

McCarthy via the press has been saying all preseason the team doesn't hit in practice. Preseason games are the only time they really get to practice the blocking and other parts of the running game. Thus he calls a run heavy game. Air Rodgers will be uncorked in Jax. It should take full flight after the bye week when the rust is burnished off of Nelson and Rodgers and Monty and the rest.
The lack of practicing against the run has me concerned about the defense though as they play some good running teams early in the schedule.
