Ironman, as I'm sure you have no doubt surmised, beer is always involved in these matters. Here is another sport I suspect the Rock is unfamiliar with. It is a winter sport, so an exponent must be added when contemplating the beer consumption. My memory fades on the exact geography, but here's the best I recall:

My cousin lived in Monona, Wis. This is like a "suburb" of Madison. There was a hill near Monona called "Knob Hill". It was a ski hill in winter, complete with a tow rope to take you to the top. The method used to get to knob hill from my cousin's house was snowmobile. The conventional method for getting to the hill from his house was to go around lake Monona. My cousin and his friends had developed a "shortcut" to get there, along with a new and exciting sport. There was a railroad trestle that skirted the lake, and for those of you that are "jumping the gun" as regards this story, the sport did involve both beer and moving trains. I did not personally witness this sport, as when afforded the opportunity to play, in an extremely rare case of lucidity, I forced my cousin to accompany me on the more "scenic" route.

I was somewhere on this planet when I received the news that my cousin "lost" while playing. It seems that they (this would be "drinking" buddies) had perfected (well, almost perfected) the algebra involving trains, trestles and snowmobiles to the point that there were several "near misses" during this particular winter. I never did get the exact details on why the train hit my cousin's snowmobile halfway across the trestle as contrasted to at the end of it, my thinking being that there was either more beer involved than disclosed, or possibly some mechanical failure. Anyway, after having landed on the ice some 40 feet below the trestle, after having jumped from the snowmobile just prior to impact with the train (after all, my cousin isn't stupid), my cousin encountered some bad luck.

The snowmobile landed on him. Now, because I had moved to a more moderate climate at a relatively young age, I have never personally owned a snowmobile. I have, however, driven my uncles' snowmobiles, (they were Merc folk) or more accurately, my aunt's. I don't know exactly how much they weigh, but my recollection is that I wouldn't want one to land on me after having fallen 40 feet, especially while lying on ice. I know my cousin would agree with that statement. He WAS an aspiring pitcher, but due to many surgeries on his leg (involving pins, etc.) his conventional sporting career ended after having "lost" to the train. In my opinion, this was my type of destiny had life's circumstances not taken me from my roots... after all, I'm from Wisconsin also, and I also like beer.

We used to do some crazy stuff like that also dfoster and yes it involved alot of beer lol. The idea of our game involved a old car and a atv trail including hills and jumps.

We would have a driver drive as fast as he can thru the trails (which was fun by itself) but the true sport was you and another person both climb on the top of the car and hang on. The winner was the one that could last the longest. It was a blast until the next morning when the aches and pains would be felt.

So we would just do it all over again the next time we were out drinking.

Some other fun events i have drove in are the Crandon Brush Run and the ice races.
Brush run is a sanctioned version of above just without the people holding on.

The one year was so much fun we got ahold of an old hearse and when my co driver passed out we painted his side of the car pink along with his helmet. But the topper was we built a fake casket and a dummy in the back and when we hit the first jump it went flying out the back door lol. It would have been nice if i could have finished more than 2 laps of a race lol. I was in 4 of them and 2 of them i never finished the 1st lap.

Ice racing is fun also, they make an oval track out on Green Bay and you get your self a beater car and then you just race.

So ya we cheeseheads have some weird sports.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I got the most enjoyment out of playing QB, but my best sport was baseball. Everything came naturally for me, I just didn't love the game enough to keep trying. Heck, I may have made it AAAAAA league as a third string water boy if I had kept at it!!

Football.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress

Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : Well, not crazy, it makes sense. Crazy I didn't notice/find it earlier
Zero2Cool (7-Aug) : it's crazy how one stored procedure to get data bogged everything down for speed here
dfosterf (7-Aug) : to herd cats or goldfish without a bowl. They reminded me of the annual assembly of our fantasy league
dfosterf (7-Aug) : out on a field trip, outfitting them with little yellow smocks. Most of the little folk were well behaved, but several were like trying
dfosterf (7-Aug) : Yesterday my wife and I spent the afternoon on the waterfront here in Alexandria, Va. A daycare company took about 15 three/four year olds
