In Favre's first few years under the helm, he had Sterling Sharpe to force the ball to, and that really helped him.

Rodgers has freakin' Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, and a somewhat reliable RB in Ryan Grant. With experience, Rodgers has no reason to see his numbers slump.

Watching the two play, there's already a pretty significant difference. Favre took a lot more chances, but Rodgers took sacks to avoid pretty rough mistakes. Both obviously led to different problems but had different rewards as well.

I expect Rodgers to be more aware of his surroundings this season. I personally won't care if he throws less touchdowns, but I expect the same number interceptions and LESS sacks.

Rodgers in the long run I think has been put in the perfect situation. He's got to learn for a few years and now gets to start his career on a good team also won't take the beating (I hope) a young QB takes his first few years so Im thinking he could be productive for 10-15 seasons yet

No offense but do you follow football much? Your not the only one i have seen that says Rodgers will play for 10-15 years. The reason i ask is there are very few qbs that play for 10 years so i don't know why you think he will play until he is 40.

I know people will say i'm taking a jab at Rodgers but i am not. Just facts that not many qbs play until they are 40.

So he does not play 10 years?

8 years and 3 Superbowls will be just fine.

Or does he pull a Tony Romo and put up good stats but can't win a big game? I really like your dreams of 3 Super Bowls but it won't happen. We are not even close to in the class of the Steelers and Pats. But i think we are in the class of the Cowgirls and Chargers.

You can take this as a jab if you want but Romo put up big stats his 1st year and got a huge contract but couldn't win a playoff game. Since his 1st year he has been declining. So hopefully Rodgers don't follow in Romo's shoes.

Rodgers put up good stats and got a huge contract and couldn't win games, so step one is the same. The rest is yet to be seen.

First of all, in ten years, Rodgers will be in his early to mid 30's. Not 40. Brett's not even 40, so I don't know where anybody got that number from.

Romo has not declined at all. Last season, he got injured. When he came back, he clearly gave the Cowgirls a different look.

Dh I totally get your point but you have to realize no where did I say he WILL play till 40. All I said was he could. So if I assume you're saying he has no cance to play till 40 should I now believe you don't follow football close. No, it's just your opinion right?

I would bet everything i have that he won't play until he is 40. But yes it would be an opinion because he isn't 40 yet lol.

As far as blue i take it you don't watch much football or read much of the comments because if you would read it said 10-15 years and that would put him at 40. I personally think he will be lucky to last till he is 32. If we don't do something about our line he will be lucky to make it to 27.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I think one of the biggest advantages Rodgers had was the time on the bench gave him a chance to learn how to do stuff like breaking down tape and preparing for NFL games. Things that rookies don't really get a chance to do.

When it comes to reading, you have no room to talk sir.

I liked the comment about being lucky to make it to 32, lol. He'll have to learn to get that damn ball out a lot quicker. Play hot potato with it or something, get the damn ball off!!

Dh I'm not arguing much with you. I think the problem is you keep thinking I said he will play till 40 when all I said is he COULD play 10-15 seasons. I never said it was a garantee. I agree with you the odds are against him but never say never any football fan would know that.
