I went hockey cause it's the only thing I still play often. It makes a sport more enjoyable to play if you're good so I took hockey over golf

The first thing that comes to mind is the Rock having to explain this to his classmates. The second thing is a sport that is (I believe) not only unique to Wisconsin, but probably unique to Madison, and probably something that few, if any have seen. In my neighborhood in Madison, these guys would race full size automobiles down a hill. No big deal, you are probably thinking. The cars had no engines. Still no big deal... as mentioned, they were racing down a hill. Here is where it gets a little interesting. The cars had plywood bodies, instead of metal ones. (The steering, suspensions, tires, frames were as original). They would start at the top of the hill, my memory was approximately five-wide, and ist to bottom wins. Now, if you are thinking soap-box derby, you don't fully appreciate how just not right us folks from Wisconsin truly are. You see, the hill was in the friggin' woods. These guys HAD to have plywood bodies on their cars, due to the constant head-on collisions with trees due to the absolute inability to "give-way" while hurtling down the hill, neck-and-neck, with their fellow red-neck. I distinctly recall the impact against a tree sounding much like a small explosion, and it sure looked like one. As stated, we ain't right where I come from. :thumbleft:

So no one actually got any serious injurys from that 'sport'? I can imagine about double the amount of brain damage coming out of that town.

It is extremely difficult to determine if any or all of the participants in the sport I mentioned incurred brain trauma as a result of their form of recreation, as they didn't start out with a full deck, even prior to their first race. I suspect that a large percentage of these gents wound up in NASCAR, which only reinforces my pre-conceived notions, including one Matt Kenseth, who I distinctly heard bragging about not having to contend with any trees at Daytona. I believe him to be a local boy, and on that note I will rest my case on the whole issue.

I bet I know what the person who invented this game said the first time he introduced it:

"[strike]Hey y'all[/strike] Ya hey der, hold my beer, and watch this!"

Football is pretty fun to play. My friends and I only play wrap up tackles or two hand tag, since we don't have any padding and most people play for fun, not to break a rib.
