I did some research on this guy and found he was thought to be totally clueless regarding football in general and the Jacksonville Jaguars, specifically, when he was employed by them. He's pretty popular at Packers. com and I find it tragic this is a person any fan would be looking to for information about the Packers. Why we hired this former cheerleader of the Steelers and Jags to be the face of Packers.com is a total baffling mystery to me. Some of you would be much better selections to write for Packers.com.

Today, I did something I don't think I've ever actually done. I read some of his ASK VIC columns. I just shook my head that this guy receives a paycheck from our organization to crank out the total crap he's giving as answers to fans.

Vic inspired me to ask him a question:

How much objectivity is lost when a journalist receives a paycheck from a team vs. a local newspaper? It's hard enough for a local beat guy to be objective considering he needs credentials and access to players that will be much harder to get without being overly team friendly and I have to imagine that it's at a whole higher level when you're employed by a team. Is this good for the game when journalists become nothing more than paid cheerleaders for teams?

Who reads this guy? What is your opinion about him?

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I don't like him, I think he's a real dick.
It didn't take me long to figure that out and I quit reading anything he writes a long time ago.
In fact I quit going to Packers.com because of him.
PACKERSHOME provides me with far more entertainment and information.

He basically says almost everything I'm thinking. It freaks me out. Get out of my head Vic.

Although I generally agree with his philosophy I'm not a big fan of him at all. I think he has a pretty high opinion of himself even though he would like us to believe he doesn't. I also get the impression that his philosophy might change if his employers philosophy changed or if he went to an employer with a different philosophy.

I'd love to be his neighbor though because he would absolutely die with my dandelion yard. You would have to have read his columns the last week or so to get that reference.

I'm not sure why people give him such a hard time. What do you expect from him? He's a paid cheerleader. He's not going to publicly shame his employer or call them out. When I market for my company, I put a positive spin on everything because I'm trying to sell services and that's what I'm paid to do. It's no different for Vic. If you don't like what he does, then don't read or watch his material.

Michael Rodney goes on-and-on about Vic in a sarcastic way. Get over it. Acknowledge it for what it is and move on. He always tells his followers that if they don't like what he writes, then unfollow him and don't read his material, yet he doesn't seem to heed his own advice when it comes to Vic.

I never visit packers.com, but I'm not going to blast Vic for doing exactly what he is paid to do. He does the job he is supposed to do just like you and me.

I think he's funny, and he does a really good job of putting things into context. Especially when we have our annual freak out moments. I think he's much more football knowledgeable than most folks give him credit for. I very much enjoy his columns.

A Ketchman article is like a player interview. As in, it's boring, and doesn't tell us anything new.

If he had or shared any real insight with the peeps in Packer HQ, that would interest me.

But he don't.

Packershome ->Acmepackingcompany -> PFT

In that order.

dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.

Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
