If Vic wants to be a homer because he's paid, that's understandable but there's more to this than just that. He's not smart. Go look at what he wrote to a couple of responses over the last few weeks about why the best pass rusher doesn't line up over the RT all the time? Vic answers and says because that would encourage teams to run to the right side of the line. Someone says to him in the next column that his answer made no sense because teams would just be running over LT all the time if that's where the best pass rusher was. Vic answers and admits he was an "idiot" by saying, well, not every team has Reggie White??????? Huh?????? There was an opportunity for him to admit he had no clue what he was talking about but he kept going as to not appear stupid. Vic should've not taken the question and attempted to answer if he didn't know what the answer was but he did.
Kevin's point is excellent and is the one I've made, repeatedly, about Packers fans posting anywhere in Packerland in general. There is little objectivity because the goal is Packers promotion and not besmirching the green and gold's good name. A lot of forums become just an extension of Packers.com and that is pure yuck. A buddy booster club with no actual reading value. When we get honest and really talk about the team both positive and negative we have an actual forum. Of course, some of us skew one way or the other. It's always nice when you can find a balanced board. Reading Vic makes one imbalanced or pushes them that way. I prefer to know about my team...my real team, not some idealized version of it. Vic is an impediment to objectivity and should be avoided at all costs imo.
BTW, I like Troy Aikman. How could anyone rip the knowledge level of a guy who won multiple SB's as a QB? He scored 29 on his wonderlic and is a successful businessman and despite all his concussions is very well spoken.
