To be totally honest i would love to see Brett in Minn. for one year just to watch Ted Thompson squirm around and have his biggest fear be right in front of him. I don't see it happen but it would be funny to just watch Ted freak out and try and file some more papers claiming the vikings tampered with something lol
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

You really would love to see your favorite team take a dirt nap for a season, as long as it meant you were "right" about the G.M., wouldn't you?

Awesome.

Btw Long thanks for the link to the partial transcript. I listened to the 30 minute call and i noticed in the transcript there are a few questions left out like when he was asked if the Packers have contacted him and if he is still going to be getting the buy out deal which he responded to by saying he has no idea what the Packers will do. Or when he was asked when he would be going back to Green bay. I'm searching to see if i can find a video of the full conference call so you can hear the tone of his voice for some of his answers, sure makes his answers totally different.

Zero did you actually listen to the conference call? If you did you would of heard in his voice and how it took awhile to answer the question. You could hear it in his voice and what about the part when he said he talked to his friends on the Packers but has no intentions of contacting the FO.

listen to the conference

Starting at the 19 minute mark for Ted, didnt really take a while and didnt get idea he was ticked still ( even tho he probably is )

On the Packers retiring his number

I hadn't even thought about it. For the teammates that I played with in Green Bay and for the fans, nothing has changed from day one. It's a shame what has unfolded throughout this whole thing. I don't know. I don't have an answer for that right now. It may be five years, it may be the first game. I have no idea. Honestly, I haven't even thought about it.

On his dealings with Packers GM Ted Thompson

He had his reasons, I had my reasons. Who is to say who is right or who is wrong? He has a plan. I'm not mad at him for that. Other people may be, but I don't know. It's a touchy situation. I know that my stay in Green Bay was unbelievable and nothing can take that away, not one person. That organization has been outstanding to me throughout my career. It is what it is. It's unfortunate, but, at some point, it will be dealt with.

then about 25 mins in

On if he has spoken with the Packers

No, I haven't talked [to them]. Only several players, teammates of mine from Green Bay, have sent me some nice messages, and that's it.

That for sure doesnt sound like he was upset at all

30 mins long..Nothing about a buy out ???

sometimes it "appears" you hear something when in reality it was never said?\

Was this the "buy out question"?

I have yet to find a good accurate transcript of the teleConference.

It is NOT a buy out. What is wrong with you? Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with you? How hard is it to understand a Marketing/Merchandising Deal vs a Buy Out?

The Packers are not trying to buy him out of his contract. They are wanting to utilize his services on a (fuck --- I forget the length exactly) 10 year contract for periodic appearances and to sell merchandise of his likeness and his name.

DO YOU GET IT YET? Do you need freaking pictures to understand this?

And to answer the question. The Packers have already addressed if they will still offer the same Marketing/Merchandising Deal to Brett even though he was going to be playing for the Jets. It was a DEFINITE YES they will because THEY (as the rest of the world who get it) see Brett as a GREEN BAY PACKER no matter what team he plays for after his 16 years as a GREEN BAY PACKER.

To make this clear for you, yes. The Packers will still offer the same if nothing else, similar arrangement for Brett Favre.

You have to be someone who just knows how to stay the stupidest shit just to annoy me at times. I swear, that's your purpose at times. Who's your leader? Take me to your leader!! We need a major adjustment to your thinking. How dare you think differently than me! 😛

put it to rest

"When I retire, they lose all marketing rights," Favre said. "They cannot sell anything with my name on it. That's a big deal to them. It's just like an endorsement with Nike. We have been working on that (deal) for some time."

Favre acknowledged that the money being offered by Packers president Mark Murphy was not in exchange for him not to report to training camp. He said that has been incorrectly portrayed in some media reports.

Working on it for sometime, incorrectly portrayed sounds to me like he is admitting it wasn't a bribe

Yep, he told that Al Jones feller it wasn't a bribe as well. (didn't check the link so if you linked that article, oops), but he later contradicted himself shortly before the trade when he told ESPN that they (Packers) tried to pay him off to stay retired. I believe I cited sources on this in my 'Favre' thread way back too.
