Are you freaking kidding me? Bernie Sanders wants to take more than half of someone's earnings if said earnings exceed $10 million? If that is true, he's a class A scumbag! The rates being used here are for Married Filing Jointly or Qualifying Widow(er), per this link .

Earn $12 million? Government gets $6.24 million to spend and YOU get $5.76 million of that $12 million that you earned. Seriously, if this is true, how can any educated, or even half educated person support this? It is morally wrong an economically stupid.

This can't be true, there is just no way. If someone is able to make over $10 million, chances are they are going to splurge and spend it, which means it goes into our economy. I would rather that than trust the Government to spend it. I mean, if they use it to expand business that means more jobs. If they use it to buy another boat, or a 14th (absurd if you ask me) home, that's more jobs as well.

As for storing money in off shore accounts, that is something I understand wanting to prevent most definitely. I always believed that was illegal, but shit, when has that ever stopped anyone?

You mentioned off-shore accounts. That is something I had not considered. How can we prevent that from happening? My high level view was expressed above and you've widened it. Why? Because I was open minded enough to do so. You should reward that openness with kindness, not being a prick because being a prick makes people defensive and close minded.

Other than off-shore accounts, why else do you believe it is worthwhile to tax someone over half their earnings?

The url doesn't lead anywhere, though, so I'm not sure.

Anyway, that would net the government $5.7 million and you $6.3. I'm not well-informed on the American tax system, but I imagine you can take some tax exempts from that, as well.

All in all, that doesn't sound that crazy to me.

DakotaT mentions off-shore accounts, I am sure there a plethora other reasons to validate it. Not to mention there is a very small fraction that I believe would fall into that category. When looking at it on the surface, any time you pay the Government a larger share than you take home ... I just feel that's wrong.

That's not how math works though. 52% tax is more than the 48% you would bring home, therefore the numbers would be $5.7 million for YOU and $6.3 million for the Government. Unless I am missing something mathematically, which we all know could very well be the case! lol

You can always spot those who are insecure because they need to knock others down to feel better about who they are when in fact they could be speaking positive with more ease. Quite sickening and Donald Trump is showing to be one that just knocks people down, and politically-wise says what the problems are and doesn't have much solution to said problems. I don't know a whole lot about Ben Carson, but I was surpised he publicly endorsed Trump.
