Have you ever looked at the definition of objective?

(of a person or their judgment) not influenced by personal feelings or opinions in considering and representing facts.
"historians try to be objective and impartial"
synonyms: impartial, unbiased, unprejudiced, nonpartisan, disinterested, neutral, uninvolved, even-handed, equitable, fair, fair-minded, just, open-minded, dispassionate, detached, neutral

Look at the definition and the synonyms and type with a straight face that a positive fan can possibly be objective? I told you what my aim is when looking at this team. I am much more in line than a positive fan when it comes to objectivity. Why does that truth upset you so? Because I tell you the truth you don't want to hear? That's all too familiar territory. Bob McGinn can relate also.

I guess you didn't read the definition. POSITIVE AND FAN ...POSITIVE FAN...is the antithesis of objectivity. I don't care what you think about my objectivity. I'm more concerned about you understanding word definitions.

You care so little about showing those positive people what's what that you spend an hour plus a day explaining this to people? Like it or not, you have passion for this team. Yes, you're trying to be objective, and to be completely honest, I do appreciate it and your passion. That being said, fair or not, the way you go about posting creates an entirely different appearance, one that is not compatible with your claims of near-objectivity. Appearances are appearances, but on some level they reflect something deeper.

Just my twenty cents.

Perhaps, some of my "issues" with fans comes from working in media? I still will maintain a fan and objective is completely incompatible in the truest sense of each word. If a person is a fanatic and especially of the "positive" variety. It's impossible to claim objectivity. I don't see myself as a fan...I would consider myself more of a follower than a fan. I follow the Packers very closely. I wish for them to excel but I feel like fan connotes a lot of things I wouldn't want to be associated with nor should anyone really, IMO. When fans boo at Lambeau and they do do that on rare occasions it's not a bad thing. They aren't being bad people. Bad fans? Maybe. When something is bad it's okay to say it's bad IE: Davante Adams as a WR. It is not okay because you're a fan to bluster and blow about how his season wasn't really that bad. It was. A fan has a hard time with that. A follower seeking objectivity has no issue calling a spade a spade. Fan can't or won't do that. You are not suppose to see anything but positive just like when we lose year after year after year You're a fan you spin it positive no matter how negative it is. I can't do that. I find that disingenuous and wrong and a near mental disorder to completely be averse to what you see because you're a "Fan" of something. We see it in politics, sports, religion, etc. People get a cult like mentality for things they love or admire too much. I don't wish to be that close and that far gone. Some do and love love love it. It's fun for them...it's their sense of belonging. It's they're part of the club. The guy touting how he's an owner of the Packers is such an example.

I actually like you as a poster. About as fair as it gets on here. You are more even keeled than anyone else I know on here. That's a compliment. I wish EVERYONE was like you in the sense of how even keeled they are. I like the different opinions but the rah rah stuff really needs to go, IMO. We're ADULTS not kids and some adults act like kids when they discuss a game they see on TV.

Favre lost that title game. We had the guys to get it done.

And Denver is gonna have some tough decisions to make. We'll see when they win their next one. I'm intrigued.

I had to smile when I read the piece at PFT where Ron Rivera defended Cam for not trying for the fumble and walking out of the press conference. That is about as objective as posts we see here and Tom Coughlin defending OBJ and his crazy behavior. Neither coach due to their lack of objectivity could tell the truth. It's such a lost art to just say what things are with no gloss. Cam was a puss and a baby and OBJ was a psycho but the coaches can't acknowledge that truth. I wish we could get away from the Rivera and Coughlin approach here when it comes to the Packers.

When the game is over; the coach could bitch, moan and cry about his player's performance and publicly humiliate and embarrass them OR he could turn his focus on saying what will best help the team in 2016.

There's 3 kinds of coaches: (1) coaches that protect their players from a savage, a sociopathic press and keep the dirty laundry and evaluations in house; (2) soon to be ex-coaches that have their teams imploding around them; and (3) ex-coaches.

Mucky Tundra (24-Jan) : Rude!
beast (24-Jan) : Martha? 😋
Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.
dfosterf (24-Jan) : I'm going with a combination of the two.
beast (24-Jan) : Either the Cowboys have no idea what they're doing, or they're targeting their former OC, currently the Eagles OC
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.
beast (23-Jan) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you
wpr (22-Jan) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22-Jan) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
