I was exaggerating. In Davante's defense, the offseason expectations weren't from him, they were from AR/MM. Jordy only exacerbated the expectations that were probably unwarranted. The one-handed family night grab didn't help this. The reality is he had a whopping 38 catches last year, fewer than our boy Jarrett Boykin. With that said, the spike (among other incidents) have done nothing to ease our disdain towards him, and clearly he has been an absolute dud this year as a #1 or hell even a #6.
I feel he desperately needs a "reset" button. He has no confidence, focus, or mojo. I've been there as an athlete, and seen it with the athletes I've coached. Sometimes you get so down on yourself you just need that offseason to completely reset your mojo.
