Today in English, we had a writing prompt...and guess who it was on.

Vince Lombardi!

We had to write about a quote, whether we agreed/disagreed with him.

Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Interesting. I once read that the quote was "Winning isn't everything, but the will to win is everything." Maybe he said that another time. Or maybe it's one of those ubiquitous internet misattributions.

I'm sure you've seen this famous quote:

An evil exists that threatens every man, woman and child of this great nation. We must take steps to ensure our domestic security and protect our homeland.

Question: Who wrote that?

I would've gone with Eisenhower.

Looked it up on google though and the results kinda amazed me. Not that much that one of them said that. He did some bad things but he was a great speaker, but that he got nearly copier by that someoen else.

Might be somewhat unclear, but just trying to keep this the guessing game going. 😛

Just about every great quote from the last 100 years goes back many many hundreds of years. They have just been tweaked, updated to modern language, and or modernized for todays society.
