In this week's edition of "What You Might've Missed," Packers.com senior writer Mike Spofford takes a closer look at the Broncos' coverage of the Packers' receivers, which often gave QB Aaron Rodge...

Gary Ellerson spent the morning yesterday calling Aaron out for stat whoring and ignoring guys who were open short. He also said that NFL Network did a segment on all the guys that were open that Aaron ignored.

Chris Havel suggested on SportsLine last night that Aaron may have been concussed in the first Q.

Aaron Rodgers will not continue to play if he thinks he has a concussion. He is very cognizant about his post NFL life and wouldn't risk it over a game as meaningless as Sunday nights. If it was the Super Bowl, I could MAYBE see him pushing it.

As for Chris Havel, the guy is a douchebag. He constantly says things that make no sense and blatantly false. I used to listen every day and because of his blatant ignorance on obvious matters I've tuned out. Maybe douchebag is too strong. Maybe he's deliberately saying stupid crap to get callers to call in? I don't know, but I do know it's obnoxious to listen to.

Everybody is wrong.

There were several plays where a player was completely open like Davante Adams here:
https://vine.co/v/e3lhjhVB0jg
Notice he is open from the snap.

There were also several plays where noone was open, that doesn't mean you can't throw a pass to JJ o Cobb to fight for the ball 1 on 1, as the rules are the receivers have a strong advantage.

Rodgers missed several throws, held the ball for too long and under and over threw WRs. He had a horrible game and he was so out of character that maybe he was not concussed but dazzled after some play in the 1st qtr.

So you can pick plays to show he had no option or plays to show how bad he played, we can all agree he had a terrible game.

And besides how bad Rodgers played you can't blame the WRs if your offensive plan is a bunch of the same old slow developing routes.

The concussion idea occurred to me too when I saw Rodgers wince after his head hit the ground. I watched his expression each time they showed him later though, and he looked pissed off but not "out of it".

The reason so few receivers were open was that the massive pass rush was accomplished with so few people and so many dropping into coverage. The reason Rodgers didn't hit the rare open reiceivers was the huge pass rush. It all comes back to very shitty O-Line play. The secondary factor is that the Packer receivers on the field were a pretty sorry lot. James Jones after a great start with the Packers, has disappeared, and Davante Adams was awful against the Broncos - arguably all season.

James Jones hamstring is worse than the injury reports show. He was very hobbled in church. Davante Adams ankle is not 100% either. You have two WR who are NOT fast and playing with bum wheels against one of the best CB tandems in the league. Even if they used a good route tree, there's a chance neither gets open worth a damn.

Injuries aren't an excuse, but facts are facts.

Not sure when Aaron started worrying about whether or not guys are open.

If nobody is open, and you aren't on your ass, you either throw them open or throw it out of bounds.

The refs even helped out, but we didn't do anything.

Not to mention we abandoned Eddie Lacy way too early when he's the only person other than Crosby to score points.

I think I remember once that Driver had to tell him, up Aaron, your not acting quite right... and THEN they figure it out... if no one noticed this time he might of kept playing. ..

If our WRs are so injured, why not have Abberdeeis and Janis out there? They can't be any worse then what we saw.

dfosterf (26-Jun) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (26-Jun) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy

dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
