How do we know football is an outdoor sport. We say its an outdoor sport because that is where it began and for years that's all we had. Back when it all started we didn't really have the technology or the money to build all the teams domed stadiums so there was really no choice but to play outdoors. If they started building domes back in the early 1900's maybe the outdoor stadiums would be unique.
I'm guessing that the majority of the NFL and the owners and probably most of the players and coaching staffs would rather play indoors. Even most of the fans who actually go to the games on a regular basis, especially those in cold weather cities, would prefer to be indoors. The only group who is probably in the majority for wanting it to remain and outdoor sport are those who regularly watch from the comfort of their own homes. Here is my challenge to you. Since football is meant to be an outdoor sport, when the Packers play the vikings on January 3rd I want all of you to lug your 65 inch high def TVs outside enjoy the game from a lawn chair in your front yard. I won't hold my breath waiting for it to happen.
