I could have added Rollins and JJ to the half full glass of course. Rollins' picks were lucky, but he played a hell of a game specially in run support as barfan commented.
JJ had a fantastic, terrific play and the rest was average.

Cobb had a horrible game but he is banged up so I left him out. Same with Lacy.

Walker had a couple of very bad series against Donald then he was good.

I guess I'll go out on a limb and put Datone Jones in the glass half full category. Pressure on Foles led directly to the Rollins Pick 6 and blocked a FG when it was a two score game. Given they tried a fake punt, they might have tried a surprise onside kick if they closed within one score.

Edit: Whoops, the blocked FG came after the fake punt. Well, I guess it was a nice way to halt their momentum.

And Mike McCarthy because the Refs suck you cannot afford stupid challenges. Ya blow one; use one on a bad call that can be overturned and now ya got no more. A rule expert coach would have advised Mike McCarthy not to do the first challenge.

A challenge gives the team usually couple minutes to prepare. Do we know that someone wasn't gassed and needed a breather? Maybe someone was hurt and needed a few minutes to shake it off?

There is a lot more that goes into the challenges than coaches should admit. But McCarthy has admitted already that he sometimes challenges to give the team more time to prepare than a timeout and believes that sometimes you might even get the call your way.

You get 6 time outs in a game. You have half, maybe even less than that many opportunities to correct what could be game-changing calls. I can't see coaches wasting challenges for a breather in the 1st quarter, especially with a roster as deep as the Packers are displaying they currently have.

Edit: Wait, the challenge WAS in the 2nd quarter. A few observations (hindsight makes one a genius) here.

The play challenged was 3rd and 5 at the 28 and was ruled a 1st down at the 23 with ~2:30 in the half and the Packers were leading 14 - 7.

Heck yeah you challenge this! Who knows, maybe it goes your way?

If it does not go your way, you at least got more time to scheme against their offense in hopes of keeping them out of the end zone and holding them to a FG attempt.

If it does go you way by some long shot, you hold them to a FG attempt and get the ball back with 2 time outs and maybe the 2 minute warning. You also have the opportunity to add a FG or Touchdown to your lead. As a bonus, you get the ball opening the 2nd half. Aaron Rodgers and the team call it "double up" or something like that. They love scoring to close 1st half and getting the ball to start 2nd half.

I get the challenge and understand it was probably more a wing/prayer than a challenge that they felt certain they were going to win. This was not a bad challenge or a wasted challenge. This was a tactical challenge and actually quite smart.

My mistake if it was in the 2nd Q - some of the details get foggy when you're an old fart like me (35).

Anyway, I think we'll end up agreeing to disagree. Admittedly I'm being nit-picky. In the grand scheme of things, it didn't affect much, just my opinion that it wasn't a necessary challenge.

Even if they win it, at best it sets up 4th and a few inches, and Fisher showed later in the game that he's willing to take risks. 4th and inches is pretty convert-able. I just don't see a huge upside to risking one of your two challenges.

I agree, it was not a NECESSARY challenge and one likely to not go your way. However, I think I sufficiently explained the low-risk correlation with potential high-reward efficiently to merit some distinction that it was not as some might say, a stupid challenge.

Sure, if someone wants to have value on the teams challenge winning percentage, then yeah it was a stupid challenge, but in the big picture of things, it was a good challenge in the sense of the reward vs risk. Of course that is my opinion and in this case, dammit, it is a factoid!!! 😂

I'd like to know the stats for challenging the spot. It seems to me the refs never want to admit they spotted the ball in the wrong position. Everything else they might change but don't ever dare to challenge the spot.

wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
