S Sean Richardson has serious neck injury, career in jeopardy

Green Bay - Green Bay Packers safety Sean Richardson has suffered a herniated disk in his neck for the second time in his career and will be lost for the season, according to a source who was informed of the safety's condition.

Hopefully he's able to have a fruitful career after football.

I suppose some will fault the Packers medical staff for allowing Sean Richardson on the field? Funny thing, those same people were bitching AT the Packers for not putting Nick Collins and/or Jermichael Finley in a jersey.

I liked Richardson in the special packages Dom Capers rolled out to use his thumping. It's too bad he was so awful in coverage. Packers will miss him in the run game and special teams. Hopefully his ensuing surgery allows him to live a unrestricted non-football life.

I hate these reports for two reasons.

First and foremost I feel awful for him for all the obvious reasons.

Second...it seems like we always get this kind of info out of the blue. I had no idea he was hurt and now on a random Friday I find out his career is likely over? Where the hell did that come from?

This is starting to feel like 2010.

It doesnt fix the problem and you are asking for trouble and yes it causes the adjacent segment to have issues.
