A significant chunk of the legwork tight end Kennard Backman believes prepared him for what could be a significant opportunity against the 49ers took place in the parking lot of a hotel adjacent to Austin Straubel International Airport.

Yeah he was on the 53 but he hasn't been activated for game day yet. I figure maybe they'll script him a play or two, try to get him deep. Maybe use him as a decoy a bit.

I thought he was pretty good in the preseason. Doesn't mean much, but like everything Packers getting some big time experience should hopefully help him develop.

That's if he's even in on offensive plays... if the Richard Rodgers, FBs and WRs are healthy enough Backman could be stuck to just ST plays until he's more ready.

I'm thinking they might have R. Rodgers, Kuhn and the WRs pick up for what they're missing in Quarless on offense with Backman, FBs and/or OLBers picking up Quarless ST roles.
