true??

We are hearing that McCarthy is considering bringing in former NFL All-Pro Linebacker Kevin Greene to coach/tutor the Packers linebackers.

He has assisted the Steelers and Dolphins during training camps since retiring from the NFL.

RaiderPride,

Does it matter my status with that blog? Really? Really?

Or is the content the important thing? Bang on me hard if D. Perry doesn't get the job... but he will so we'll continue to talk Pack football moving forward.

Greene played in the 3-4 system but I don't know if he wants to coach fulltime. All I know is that the Pack is interested in his services.

See that... no plug for the blog.

He could be, or he could be right..

Why not just wait and see?

BTW there was a guy on the "old" site that posted nuggets now and then about Ryan Grant..No one believed him either. Even tho it was his brother

It should be pointed out that the 3-4 scheme usually requires two LB coaches: one for OLB and one for ILB.

I haven't read anything that suggests to me that Moss has experience with the 3-4. He'll need to learn, and another LB's coach with 3-4 experience would be someone good to learn from.

Moss may be the LBs coach, but there needs to be one more LB coach hired. Whether Moss gets an assistant or moves to one of ILB / OLB coach, another coach for the LBs is necessary. Sandman's info isn't necessarily wrong because we already have Winston Moss.

Anyone know if he has been in a 3-4 system before???

"Bigbyfan" wrote:

Yes, he has. A section from the JS article on Trgovac hire:

(Trgovac) hasn't coached the 3-4 since the 1989 season at Navy but has talked several times with Capers over the years.

In the 2003 offseason, Trgovac studied Pittsburgh's zone-blitz scheme and tapes of Capers' defenses. He spent much of '03 training camp installing it as a mixer but linebacker Mark Fields was lost to Hodgkin's disease and the scheme was never used.

"Hell, it's what I played in college," said Trgovac, a middle guard at Michigan in the early 1980s under Bo Schembechler. "I've (coached) every one of those techniques that's going to be taught here. I've been a ball coach for a long time.

Let's go get Herman Edwards as DB coach.

The Carolina fans seems pretty happy that Trgovac is gone. Just check out this thread from a Carolina forum.

Don't really know what to make of that but at least he is a position coach rather than a defensive co-ordinator.

What I read about most fan's "beef" with him had to do with a lack of aggression with respect to the DB's. Playing more of a "prevent"/ "off the line of scrimmage" type as contrasted to our "bump/press" coverage. Obviously a non-issue as a DL coach.
