Awesome. This man was a pretty good d-coordinator for Carolina too. We are really bringing in the big guns for the defensive coaching spots. Let's hope it continues.

Hmmm...do you think this means Peppers will get a look here?

OOOOOooooooo...

From the DC in Carolina to DL here.. hmmm whom is hitting the market from the Panthers on the Dline again?

That is intriguing as hell. Damn.. I think we are putting together the right nucleolus to a very solid defense.

Want some great news...

UPDATE: Meanwhile, Bates' predecessor, Bob Slowik, reportedly will become Detroit's defensive backs coach.

Looks good for the Packers passing game against the Lions.

problem is, I read on PFT (i know it's not Gospel, but I do respect Florio's sources) that part of the reason the Panthers fired Trgovak was to placate Peppers, implying that the two didn't have the best relationship. don't flame me, dhazer, i know it's just heresay, lol.

This man turned down an extension offer from Carolina because of this apparently:

http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/23/ex-carolina-assistants-perturbed-at-panthers/

The mass exodus of the Panthers defensive coaching staff apparently didnt have anything to do with Julius Peppers complaints about Carolinas scheme.

ESPN.coms Pat Yasinskas, citing sources close to the situation, reports that several of the coaches were miffed that the Panthers took so long to offer them contract extensions. The offers didnt come until the last few days, which the coaches saw as a sign of disrespect. They felt the new offers should have come before the playoffs.

If that's true, the management is setting a dangerous precedent, in my opinion.

There is a rumor flying around Carolina that the reason he turned down a contract extension was because Peppers "Had lost confidence in him". It is a rumor, so I'm just throwing it out there, FWIW, if anything.

His departure is so recent that he is still profiled in the Panther official website:

I thought Peppers had a rocky relationship with defensive line coach Sal Sunseri? At least that's what I thought...

Honestly, I don't want Peppers.

The cost will be too great to obtain him and for as dominating as he can be at times, he can also disappear during games. For the money he will garner with this deal, think Freeney money here, I just don't see the value in the investment.. as a 4-3 end if you were going to run that as base.. maybe.. but not in our developing and morphing scheme.

And more print on Perry as the secondary coach anyone?

He didn't get fired. He was offered a two year contract extension as Defensive Coordinator. He is taking a demotion to come here...that is pretty cool if you ask me, whatever the reason for it might be.

wpr (23-Jul) : I thought so Mucky. In those useless player polls GB always rates high overall. Locker is a part of it.
