Damn. He's credited with developing Polamalu? Plus he's been working with Nmandi Asomugha and the Raider's secondary, a team that actually has a decent defense. This could be great.

Utah State cornerbacks coach John Rushing has been added as a defensive assistant on Mike McCarthy's staff, a source at the Senior Bowl said Thursday.

The move has also been announced by the school, where Rushing coached the past six seasons. He coached Packers cornerback Jarrett Bush from 2005-06 for the Aggies.

It is not known what role Rushing will be in with the Packers. He could take over defensive quality control if Joe Whitt Jr. is promoted to a secondary coach.

i'm assuming he will be working under Darren Perry. In that quote there was a slight contradiction. If he got the job as a quality control coach, they say that Joe Whitt Jr will be a "secondary coach". Isn't that the same position as a "defensive backs coach" that Darren Perry will be doing, just worded differently?

Perry is coming in to bring the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive scheme. He will be the top DB coach. The others don't have the experience with the 3-4. He's the man.

Hot Rumor Alert:

There is interest in bringing in former All-Pro LB Kevin Greene to work with the Packers LBs. He has worked Dolphins & Steelers training camps during the past few years. You may or may not know, but he played with Dom Campers with the Carolina Panthers and he had a great 3 year stint with the Steelers.
