I posted this note on another website in reply to a member's question:

Thanks 4 ever. Not much new has happened. He has been not allowed out of the wire. Medical rehab. He took the splint off his finger but they still are making him wait. He showed up to roll with his team a couple of weeks ago but they did not let him go.
He told me a funny story awhile back about his the mental health interview they did after the explosion.
Seems that they had an Air Force SGT asking him a bunch of silly questions.

"Were you angry after your injury?" "YEAH"
"What did you do about it?" "Nothing. The guy who tried to kill me was dead."
"And how did that make you feel?" "ANGRY OF COURSE."
Now I should point out that my son noticed right away that the AF Sgt's partner was a very cute E4. She kept giggling whenever my son fired back a satirical line at the dufus I mean Sgt. So he figured why not keep going and try to impress the young lady.
Next question-
"Do you have any loss of memory of events that occurred prior to the accident?" "Now how am I suppose to know that?"
"Excuse me?" "Well if I have no recall, I do I know that I forgot it?"
The girl busted out laughing.
AF Sgt to the E4, "You're suppose to be on my side."
I do not remember he response.
After doing this same bit for about 20 minutes the interviewees left while my son waited in the room.

An AF Captain came in. I do not know if the room is wired for sound. I assume it is. The Capt said to my son, "I hear you are giving my Sgt a hard time." "Well the questions are stupid."
AF Capt, "There is nothing wrong with you. You can leave."

Isn't it comforting to know that it is these rules and regs that keep America safe? ::roll:

He is going to get 2 weeks leave in the middle of Feb. He has plans to catch up with a lot of his friends that are off at college. I told him he has to give his Mother a couple of those days.

He gets it from me. I have been a smart @ss from why back. He has taken it to a whole new level. I have a hard time mocking authority figures. He is not intimidated.

OH by the way. He is a SGT now. The orders have been sitting on some schmuck's desk (and I mean that in the full Yiddish definition.) for 3 months or more. Someone finally smacked the schmuck on the back of the head and got the promotion moving again.
