The Packers' plan is to bring in a veteran receiver to help make up for Nelson's loss, and it's no secret in NFL circles that if the New York Giants cut James Jones, the Packers would be all over him. They also will be keeping an eye on Carolina, where Jarrett Boykin is competing for a roster spot. They might even consider Detroit's Jeremy Ross if he gets cut.

This is how we do it... This is how we do it... resign our former castoffs. If Clay is hurt bad we'll just see if Cincy cuts AJ Hawk and bring him back.

The above quote was from an article about not wanting to burn 88 cent out from having him on ST's and learning all 4 WR spots. Obviously, he's not going to be ready right away and they're hoping he will be later on.

Couldn't even imagine us bringing back Jeremy Ross.

I think he is jumping the gun.
Nobody knows what happened at practice this last week and tonight it sounds like all the young guys are going to get their chance to prove themselves.
The Packers #2's and 3's play well against The Eagles 1's and 2's the writer could be absolutely wrong.

Ok, maybe Myles White knows the plays. Abbrederis too. Clearly Janis does not, as he has been referred to as knowing a "limited" route tree in numerous articles.

James Jones still has some left in the tank and he knows the system. He has also worked extensively with Aaron. Seems logical to me. I wonder if he can protect Aaron's blind side.

So the think that if Jarrett Boykin gets cut from Carolina we will consider him? ROFL. Name 3 WRs from the Panthers, now....
And the "burnout" thing about Montgomery is ridiculous, what is going to happen? His head exploding?

When writers write because they have to fill a quota this kind of silly things happen.

The "rookie wall" was real; but it is no more.

College seasons used to be shorter and rookies never experienced the draining affect of two-a days and hundreds of collisions w/ bigger faster guys each week in practice.

Now there's 11 padded 2 hr practices during an NFL season and everyone goes to a Bowl game on New Year Day. They just established a new bowl this year taking the 14 place Big 10 team and 18 place SEC team called "The Petsmart there's a piece of dog sh!t over there Bowl." I can hear Lombardi: "I mean WT FLYIN' F is going on around here."

The six draftable players not playing on New Years or after, are playing in all star games and training for combine with more grueling rigors than the typical NFL dude.

Hell, compared to OSU regiment, I'll bet Linsley thought he was on vacation playing for GB last year!

That said, learning 4 WR positions in the GB offense in one year IMHO is mentally IMPOSSIBLE. I can see anyone trying, especially if he's supposed to also contribute on STs, suffering form mental fatigue. It's just too much!
