No. I ask a simple question and the only response is...Ted is so awesome. Jordy's contract is not that of a #1 WR because he is not a #1 WR. It's as simple as that. You guys would always say you trust the judgement of Ted Thompson more than any idiot on a Packers forum. Well, here's your chance to not be a hypocrite. If you truly trust TT's judgement, and not your own, you have to go against with all your sentimentality and realize the fact is Jordy didn't get paid like a #1 WR because he isn't. Spin until you're dizzy and throw up but there is a reason Jordy and Randall are paid about the same and Greg Jennings was offered more prior to both their deals. Ted is so awesome doesn't really apply once you realize Greg Jennings was offered more money than Jordy or RC18. I'm sure you don't think Greg Jennings is so awesome anymore. Why is it that he is no longer awesome in your eyes? Think. It's really not that hard.

A wide receiver in Green Bay over the last 20 years has inflated stats which indicate he is better than he actually is.

Tier 1 one receivers would include Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Dez Bryant.

Tier 2 would be guys like Jordy, Antonio Brown, and Julio Jones.

I don't know how to idiot proof this any better than this.

Try and trade Jordy Nelson for one of those Tier one guys and watch yourself get laughed at.

Green Bay receivers have inflated stats because of the offense run, and excellence at quarterback. None of them are as good as you think they are. And that is why every time one of them leaves our team, there is a major drop off.

While I won't dismiss the fact that GB runs a very good system and has the best QB in the NFL, this doesn't tell the whole story. Greg Jennings left GB to play with Christian Ponder/Matt Cassel/whoever else they had, and his play significantly dropped off. Give Jennings even an average QB and he might have looked a lot better. The difference between Aaron Rodgers and Tony Romo or Matt Stafford is much, much smaller than the difference between Rodgers and Christian Ponder. This is after two injury riddled down years in GB, for all we know Jennings would have dropped off in GB as well.

James Jones went to Oakland, and aside from a significantly lower average than he typically has, his performance wasn't much worse than when in GB.

Anyway, this theory has already been debunked with regard to Jordy when he played half of 2013 with Matt Flynn and Scott Tolzien and still produced at a high level. If Jordy was simply a product of Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball, there would have been a big dropoff there.

Fine I'll roll with it but I'm confused because Antonio Brown and Julio jones are both #1 WR and you just put Jordy in the same tier as them.

And are we talking about Larry Fitzgerald in his prime or right now?

Mike Wallace has done squat since leaving Roethlisberger and Tannehill is hyped as being one of the next great QB's in this league where Wallace failed.

Wish we had Antonio and Jordy...two terrific players and professionals.

You have to wonder if part of the reason RC18 didn't stick around is because he knew if he went elsewhere he may have become Greg Jennings...same with Jordy.
