That is exactly why I didn't want Raji in that draft. He had a rep for being exactly the type he turned into. It was actually surprising he played well for the stretch he did. I could never figure out why they tried moving him to DE. It's almost like the Packers love effing with their players to see how they respond. Team has done it for years and years especially on OL.

As a 9th overall... B U S T

We may feature a D with Raji, Jones and Perry...3 recent 1st rounders whom have not lived up to their statuses. Dix is an unknown but played okay as a rookie especially relatively speaking with what we've had back there. Matthews is looking out for No. 1. Our best 1st rounder on our D was drafted by Carolina and played in Chicago. Thankfully, we got rid of the other underachieving 1st rounder in AJ Hawk.

You draft players to help you win the superbowl. He did that. Mission Accomplished.

BJ had 6.5 sacks that glorious year you speak of...has 10.5 for his career. So 4 sacks other than 1 season since '09?

He had one very good year. Period. I would hope when we draft in Round 1 we're not expecting to get ONE year out of our first rounder but consider Sherrod, Harrell, Perry, Jones, etc...I would settle for ONE year between all four of those busts.

Won't dispute BJ was crucial to our SB run but that was a year we barely made it into the playoffs and wouldn't have if the Bears had anything to play for. So, his being drafted to win a SB hung by a thread there.

And besides, he was bouncing back last year, after being used out of position for the past few seasons. I think he'll be fine.

I would say watch the games but do so with an objective mindset which surely has escaped you.

Maybe if he had played the game, at any level, he would understand what it takes to put together a winner year in and year out.

Sadly all he has is the internet and his own misguided views to post on.

Even if D. Jones goes on to have a pro bowl season, Uffda will argue he is still a BUST because it took him 3 years.

Can't wait for tomorrow to get a look at The Packers new Db's , hopefully Dom puts them up against the Steelers ones so they can know what it is like to go against top rated NFL wr's, even though it is only preseason, this will be the closest they get to the real thing.

My arguments hold up because they're true. You play NFL football to WIN SUPERBOWLS...that is the object of the game from a competitive sense. Yes, it's about money but the competitive interest is in winning RINGS. You don't win a ring, you have failed no matter how badly you want to consider a good season a great/winning season it is not at the end. That is black and white with no gray. Getting to the SB is quite an accomplishment but it's still a failure on some level if you don't win.

Datone Jones hasn't helped this team to a SB. Datone Jones hasn't been anything near what he should've been or was expected to be as a 1st rounder. That isn't negativity as much as it is objectivity and reality. You can wish and spin it into whatever else works for you. You're welcome to your delusions.

If and I mean IF Datone proves to be worthy of his lofty status I will be first in line to extol his virtues and sing his praises. The converse is true and you can't say that of yourself. You can only do the former. No balance to how you view your team at all. That is your choice. I choose differently.

Sherrod is lucky he could even have a second chance after the ugly injury.
Would not call him a bust.

Btw.

The fishing was exceptional today!.
