Well.....if his family is willing to do that, i see no problem. I just feel he shouldn't be punished for being an overacheiver. I have seen in recent years, where schools have done away with validictorian because they don't want the 'dumber" kids to feel bad. They might not be dumber, they might just not be applying themselves and working as hard as they can. So they see there are no rewards for hard work, so why work hard? Why try your best if theres no payoff at all in the end? It seems its one thing after another that the PC crowd is attacking. Like not keeping score in games....to me thats STUPID. It's a slippery slope that is getting steeper and steeper with this kind of crap. Once the PC crowd wins one battle, they keep going after more and more. It's a dumbing down of America. Like was stated already in this thread, "When everyone is special, no one is".

It's because of soccer moms. they're pussifying American boys.

The soccer parents are pushing the school to promote a game that is less violent and anyone can make the team.

Soccer is ruining football because parents are too afraid there kid will get hurt.

Oh back on topic. I think the parents who protest the kid that was too good should put there kids back down stick ball.

It doesn't sound like it has anything to do with political correctness, it sounds like the people who run the league and favor the defending champions are pulling shenanigans.

Thank you for bringing all that up! I have also seen stories about what you stated.
Alot of schools have lowered their grading standard so that what WAS "failing grades" now is passing. Of course that makes it look like the schools are doing better, as more kids pass. They don't SAY that it's really because they lowered the standards.

The other thing about soccer - the scores are so low that if you played a brilliant game or if you completely sucked, the results are the same - no goals. With baseball, there is a written record for if you suck or if you're good. In football, there is a written record for if you suck or if you're good. In basketball, there is a written record for if you suck or if you're good.

In soccer, you can sit around and completely stink up the joint, but there's no way to tell you suck other than someone watching the game. There's no record. Most players on the field will score zero goals that game. So there's little to differentiate the kids who sucked from the kids who were good.

It's the perfect sport for Communism - everyone's equal. Everyone sucks (scored nothing). So everyone is good.
