Starr certainly had a strong supporting cast. I believe everyone of the O players played in the Pro Bowl at one time or another and 10 or 11 members of the team besides Starr are in the HOF. Plus Jerry Kramer should be there without question. That said to be a 17th round pick and accomplish what he did makes it a no brainer for me.

Why is Jerry Kramer not in the Hall of Fame?

A player chosen in later rounds is eliminated from being the best ever because that means the Packers passed on them. That criteria set forth; during 1957 the Packers held the 1st overall selection and chose Paul Hornung who would later break records and earn his way into the Hall of Fame.

Therefore, Paul Hornung is the best drafted Packers player.

People may forget but Lombardi was not a very good GM...his drafts were pretty weak. All of those HOF guys were there when he got there, and he turned them into HOF players. ESPECIALLY Starr, who wasn't the starter when he got there.

It's part of why the team fell apart after he left...all of those guys were old as hell by '67.
