Green Bay Packer Fans dislike him is because of the fact he has an image and PERSONALITY that is way to corporate for Green Bay Fans who are more "BLUE COLLAR" anti corporate.

I understand what the person is saying, but in my opinion, that's a pathetic display of grasping after straws, and anyone who actually uses that excuse as a reason not to support Ted Thompson is beyond lame, in my book. They're exhibiting a subtle form of classism that I find unacceptable.

The only thing that matters is the results on the field. Who cares if he's corporate, blue-collar, pink-collar, or no-collar as long as he puts together a quality team that wins on the field? I find it ridiculous to think that there are some so-called fans who would prefer a GM that didn't perform as well, so long as he exhibited a "blue-collar" attitude (what the hell is that, anyway?). Was Ron Wolf really "blue-collar" or was he just lucky enough to have brought in Brett Favre?

But I'm dyed-in-the-wool pragmatist without a blue-collar bone in my body, so what do I know?

And since the trolls seem to enjoy questioning Thompson and Rodgers' sexualities, I'll come right out and say I couldn't care less if Thompson comes to work in a tutu AND likes men. Just give us some more damn hardware to store safely at Lambeau Field.

I had no idea who Greg Jennings was. I'm going to just hope you're kidding and that you realize that guys like Jennings are an argument that Thompson has done a good job, not the other way around.

I think the point hazer was trying to make was that Ted Thompson had no idea that Jennings was going to turn out to be a beast. That's not a criticism of Ted; no one else did either. But neither does he deserve credit for ID'ing a diamond in the rough. I'm in Michigan and follow the smaller Michigan football programs somewhat and had never heard of Greg Jennings, other than a buddy in Kalamazoo telling me he was good AFTER the Packers took him.

Ted bought a lottery ticket with Jennings and hit every number. If he really did buy a winning lottery ticket would you then come on here and proclaim him to be a mathematical genius?

There is so much more that goes into scouting, rating and projecting a player than just buy a random ticket with random number upon it. Did Jennings out perform his expectations.. we shall never know unless he is directly asked that question.

Seriously, that is an insult to all GM's and scouting departments.. it is there job to rate the players coming out.

Maybe Ron Wolf got lucky year after year after year with the likes of Williams Henderson, Dorsey Levens, Edgar Bennett, Antonio Freeman, Craig Newsome.. Etc.. Etc.. Etc..

Come on now..

I don't think anyone knew what kind of impact he was gonna have, but I do believe Ted Thompson saw something in him before drafting him.

If anyone knew he was going to produce like this, he would've been a top 15 pick. Ted didn't pick him that high because he liked his name or wanted a WR, I asume. It's not like the man makes his picks by throwing darts at a board and taking the guy it lands on. There's a reason that he's a GM with an entire team of scouts and we're not.

I am amazed that you would not give someone credit for scouting, rating, and then drafting a player higher than other people would have, and having him turn out to be a very high quality pick. That's the definition of Success, in the NFL draft.

Correct; in the 2nd round. And I rest my case.

I don't know how the entire draft-scouting process works, but I can imagine that you only scratch the surface to begin with, then go to players you like and really focus on them during scouting.

For all we know, Ted Thompson saw enough potential in Greg to go for him in round 1, but if you know he's on the board to go in the 3rd, you can easily let him drop to the 2nd.

I'm not saying this happened, but I can't imagine that Ted Thompson just picked him at random, I asume he had some good reasons, scouting reports and just a hunch that this kid was going to develop into something.

They have litterally hundreds of players to look at.
Jennings turned out to be great.
It shocks me how some people can criticize TT, saying he had no way to know he would be a beast......."HUH!?!?!"
Fact is, he DID draft him, didn't he???
How many "can't miss" players are picked each year that end up sucking??? LOTS!
Yet Ted Thompson gets Jennings, and there are "twist-meisters" that SOMEHOW try to make it sound like Ted Thompson just got lucky or something.
The guy makes a great pick, and STILL doesn't get credit for it.

Like i have said before, if you hate him, NOTHING he does will change that.
I can see it now........we win the Super Bowl next season, and someone will say "TT had NOTHING to do with it! He got lucky! Now we're STUCK with him!!! And Ted Thompson got ris rotten fingerprints all over the Lombardi Trophy when he held it up!!!!"
Mark my words.......remember this post for future consideration.
