I think we did score enough points. We ended up like 5th in scoring.

We scored enough it's just we didn't stop the other team from scoring more. You cannot cover up a bad defense in this league.

The top FIVE defensive teams were in Conference finals regardless of how good or bad their offense performed.

Arizona would not be in this SB if the defense did not come out of the coma it was in the first 3/4/s of the season. Maybe they are playing over their heads or maybe they just woke up and are playing to their potential.

It doesn't really matter why. They are still playing and a GREATLY improved defense is why. I, for one, will be perfectly happy scoring 27 points a game next year. If the move to Capers works out that should be plenty to kick most teams butt.

But yes, I agree with everyone who says our coverage units were dreadful. I shudder to think of all the grotesquely missed tackles and block-in-the-back penalties we had this season.
